Should be interesting how Manly manage or nurture promising halves recruit Joey Walsh into the lower grades next season.
Probably would anticipate D C E to play on into 2026 [ well on current indications ] and Walsh has obviously been recruited as a high prospect replacement all going well .
Maybe straight into Flegg .
Club must have some degree of confidence in his potential as did not seem to resist that much Jamie Humphreys move to the Bunnies.
Will be Luke Brooks final year of his contract in 26 also but first things first and certainly hope that his combination with D C E can continue to go or function as best as possible for a while yet

Brooks is on a four year, not three year, deal:

We need better yardage and carries from our back 3 coming out if trouble. All the top teams seem to have this and it is a vital part of the modern game. Would say Penrith be as good as they have been without their back 3 contributions to gaining ground and getting the team on the front foot

Saab needs to put on weight. It will come at the cost of some speed but he needs to be affective in all his carries.

If Manly can get him off the books well and good unfortunately he never really pressed for 1st grade
The few games he had in first's wasn't inspiring, just an honest plodder, and I mean plodder. Should go ok in the less demanding ESL. Best of luck Ben, if you do end up making the move.

With Condon rumoured to be moved on I’m just seeing what money we have to bring in a decent prop to start with TP.

Rough estimate on what we have payed for departing players:

Condon - $185k
Parker - $225k
Lawton - $300k
Woods - $125k
Schuster - $625k
Humphries - $185k
Lodge - $250k
= $1,895M

Incoming:
Tevaga - $200k
Chee Kam - $150k
Volkman - $125k
= $475k

Resigned:
Aloiai - $450k saving $150k
Hmole - $900k costing $250k
Saab - $300k costing $100k
Burbo - $250k costing $125k
Brown - $250k costing $100k
= $425k

Total spent on upgrades and incoming players
= $900k

Leaves $995k

But do you've then have 3 spots to fill? Is $150 minimum. So even if two minimum wages. At best may be $600k to spend to attract.

It probably explains the lodge offer, so might be not be far off the mark.

Watching the Storm and the speed around the ruck and the way Pappy flew around, if we stick with Croker at 9 and Turbo at 1 we will have an ordinary season. The Storm's speed at the dummy half/ruck was amazing and made me realise how slow and pedestrian we are/look. The passing was crisp and the Storm seemed to have multiple options where we look to do the same thing eg Jake each time. I see why people want Koula at fullback or even Lehi, Tommy has lost that pace and maybe his role needs to be moved into a roaming centre? Watching Pappy fly all around was a previous Turbo but we need that dynamic number one for us to make top 4 again.

Could be a bit more to take into account as well , i e , Paseka , Koula Garrick upgraded for future seasons in recent or near recent times , Bully and Lehi almost inevitably due for upgrades soon
Some conjecture on the exact , previous Schuster deal but regardless still that 200 K freight for a couple of seasons yet .
Interesting the reference to Alioai 's upgraded contract and if accurate certainly an improvement on his previous 600 K but can only hope some better value on offer and including the injury front even allowing for that reduced amount .
Really think that the club would have made a play for a higher rated forward already if the funds or cap space were there

We just need a fully fit Trbo mate. He still has his speed but hampered by injury. A good offseason with injuries all fixed up & he’ll be back to his dynamic best!

Disagree, MM. To my eye, he has lost a yard of pace on the back of his injuries. That said, he does compensate with power. I think we all just pray and hope for injury free runs with Turbo these days… we are too far invested and his potential is too good, despite the frustrations.

Just looking at our contracted players for 2025 and it’s very difficult to see who we could move on to free up some salary cap space. Seibs and Tony really have their work cut out for them this summer if we are to bring in a true thicky to partner Nella.
Some tough calls are about to be made I’d imagine
