2025 recruitment & retention

Can we afford to offer him 3 years at $500k with the Eels paying most of the freight of $775k for 2025 🤔

I don’t think 3 years is too risky with RCG as he’s rarely out injured & is still close to prime (IMO).
Yeah but reportedly he wants a three year deal.
Why would he take 500k for three years when he could take 750k for 2?

Interesting MCK to be a supplementary contract initially anyway. Kind of does make him a Woods replacement. I think that still leaves 2 spots in the 30 now Parks has retired.

And that's on the basis Waddell re signed.

Very very whelmed.

Hands worse than the Siafiti twins combined, and is a walking penalty machine....like we need another.

Only good thing is it's only a 1 year deal.
Hmmm

Jazz has 6 errors this year in 19 games, there are 15 Warriors who have made more. 13 Sea Eagles made more.

He has conceded 1 penalty in 19 games this year. 22 Warriors conceded more. 20 Sea Eagles conceded more.

I like the signing,he is a high effort, intense sort of guy.
Wouldn't surprise if they look to move him to an edge.....
I agree that I don't think he is error prone, drops balls or gives away penalties.
Jake on 3 times the money is more of a worry(or Garrick,Aloiai,BenT,Saab)

Looks like we a Jazzing things up a bit!

Just sayin’

Yep, would have been a much better idea.

I also wish we'd kept Luke Garner, or even got him back from the Tigers. He's turned into the kind of speedy backrower we so desperately need. And he wouldn't have ever broken the bank.
Hindsight is a great thing.
I always thought Garner had a bit of Beaver about him when U20's for us (not saying he's that good, just his build and style)
His road seemed blocked here and we know Des' history of not debuting youngsters so off to the Tigers he went and obviously showed enough to get picked up by the Panthers.

Let's add the fact he was a junior with some potentially and showed glimpses at Tigers, but under the Penrith system is where he has really gone to another level.
The bloke I would have loved keep in hindsight is Preston, who has future rep backrower written all over him and would be a perfect addition to the current Manly team.

Garner had a great game last night. The entire Panthers did. But individually in that First 20 he done things I've never seen him do, dragged blokes 15 metres with hit ups. More than once I thought he was JFH because of his tuff stuff.

What ever the Riff are taking, we need some of that.

Could only assume that Garner must have come into some type of consideration from Manly to recruit in recent seasons but no doubt a range of factors why it did not happen .
Shrewd pickup for the Panthers , looks like still behind Sorrossen and naturally Martin there but would not have looked out of place in the Manly back row in recent season
