2025 recruitment & retention

That's the thing, the club needed to play hard ball with Tartak to stop him from holding us to ransom every five minutes. I'm comfortable with any decision that minimises the amount of influence that prick has with our salary cap.
Whilst true, the club has basically gone from the frying pan to the fire, with Moses having such a presence. But to be fair,Moses/company,does have a lot of clients in the NRL and 6 coaches on his books

Since we don’t have too much of a bank to sign any top players would offering Franklin Pele a train & trial or something for next year be a possibility? Having a terrible time in England & even loaned to a 2nd division team so I think he’s a good chance on coming back to Australia, fitness or discipline seems to be the main problem? Wasn’t that long ago he was looking like a top young front rower at Sharks, at the worst he’d be a handy player for Blacktown & still only 23

Got great leg speed, he's a big unit, wouldn't say no if the price is right right.

Weekes, Samuela and Latu, Feledy, Albert Hoppa, Humphreys and Schu are the main 'budding champions' Manly has let go in recent years. Some could yet become top players, but at this stage the 2 Fainus look most likely - and will they even end up as long term Tiger stars? Maybe, but I'd say more likely not.

He's the opposite of what I'd be looking for: couple of ultra fit energetic forwards with a little leg speed, around 100kg, around 50-100 NRL games on the clock, and equally at home in middle or on an edge. (But no idea what the club is looking for)
I think Pele would be good to have to replace guys like Lodge, Sipley even Brown only has a few years left. But I agree a smaller type guy like Hopgood has to be up there as well to balance the squad

I’m not going to write off Fifita just yet,but given the clubs situation and the likelihood his manager would have been looking for an upgrade,I believe the right decision was made
At 23 with 2 bench first grade appearences, he can still make it but I don't think he has a first grade career of substance.

Bully is just a year older and is at 80 appearances.

Moses doesn't seem to be going out of his way to destabilize the club to get a bit of extra cash for his clients.

NRL360 tonight spoke of PVL wanting to change the rules on managers, so player managers cant be coach managers and vice versa

Nothing to say some won't return either.

Lodge played well tonight. Like Turbo great signing and plays great but off the field a lot. A gamble again but two year contract and no injuries and Lodge and Paseka could be our Loata and Fisher Harris like the panthers.

Three NRL teams have reportedly confirmed an interest in signing uncontracted playmaker Ronald Volkmanfor next season.

Playing his most recent game in Round 27, 2023, Volkman has spent the entirety of 2024 recovering from a shoulder injury (and surgery) and was facing the very real prospect of not being able to take the field again.

Released from the New Zealand Warriorsat the end of last season, this year was earmarked to be a breakout season for the playmaker after he signed a one-year contract with the St George Illawarra Dragons.

However, disaster struck when scans revealed that he had to undergo shoulder surgery and would be out for the season.

This would see him subsequently released from the club as they had not registered his contract with the NRL, despite announcing his arrival on their website and showing pictures of him training with the squad.

As he attempts to get his career back on track and return to the NRL, Volkman has caught the interest of the Cronulla Sharks, The Dolphins and Manly Sea Eagles, per News Corp.
