All is forgiven and forgotten in Bondi.

Mitchell Pearce is reportedly now likely to return to the Roosters in a wild turn of events six years after he was sensationally shown the door.

The 2013 premiership winner and 19-game NSW Blues star played 309 NRL first grade games before leaving the country to play for Catalans in the English Super League.

Pearce raised eyebrows last week when he said he was open to a return to the NRL, and now The Daily Telegraph reports there has been a big development with the 34-year-old increasingly likely to return to the Chooks.

The Dolphins are set to bolster their outside back stocks, reportedly on the verge of announcing the signing of Bulldogs centre Jake Averillo.

“There’s a bit of movement at the Dogs because both of their centres Averillo and Alamoti have been on the open market,” The Daily Telegraph’s Brent Read said on Thursday on Triple M.

“Alamoti met with the Cowboys recently and Jake Averillo met with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins are also reportedly looking to seal a mid-year switch for Dragons forward Josh Kerr pending an immediate release from St George Illawarra.

While the Bulldogs may be on the verge of losing Averillo, it appears they could add a premiership-winning utility in Tyrone May.

The Roosters have emerged as a shock destination for wantaway Dragons star Ben Hunt, who dropped a bombshell this week that he is looking for a release from the club.

The Roosters are the third team after the Bulldogs and the Titans to be revealed as potential suitors for Hunt, but that list is sure to grow in the near future.

Fox League’s James Hurler confirmed the Roosters’ interest in the Queensland star on Monday night’s edition of NRL360.

Mitch Rein has announced his retirement from rugby league.

With 209 NRL games to his name, Mitch has made an enormous contribution to the game in a demanding position at hooker. Mitch made his NRL debut with the Dragons in 2011, and played for Panthers and Titans before joining the Eels in 2022.
