Jnr Turbo can help retain Sea Eagles superstars

DEAN RITCHIE JUNE 26, 2019

The family that stays together, plays together.

Manly’s chances of re-signing superstars Tom and Jake Trbojevic in a $2 million a season package have been strengthened by the Sea Eagles’ retention of younger brother Ben.

Ben, 17, has agreed to a new two-year contract which will keep him at Brookvale until after the 2021 season.

As we all know...

But from the club

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles is pleased to announce the re-signing of experienced winger Jorge Taufua on a new two-year deal.
Off contract at the end of this season, Taufua will now remain at the Sea Eagles until the end of 2021.

Taufua made his NRL debut for the Sea Eagles against St George-Illawarra in round four of the 2012 season.
The hard running winger has scored 77 tries in 137 first grade matches for the Sea Eagles. He has also represented Tonga and Samoa at Test level.
“Jorge has been a wonderful clubman for many years and we are delighted to have re-signed him for a further two seasons,’’ Sea Eagles Coach Des Hasler said.

“He has been really consistent this season. His experience and game knowledge, both on and off the field, is extremely valuable to our younger players.”

ROOSTERS PINCH FLYER FROM COWBOYS

The Roosters have signed a try-scoring ace from North Queensland - and the Cowboys aren’t happy about it.

Xavier Chatfield-Mooka, from the Cowboys’ renowned junior nursery Kirwan High, is just 16 but is already being tipped as a future first-grader.

(Because that's what the roosters do)

The Sydney Roosters have moved to shore up their playmaking stocks in the post-Cooper Cronk era by signing rising Cronulla halfback Kyle Flanagan.

The 20-year-old will join the Roosters on a two-year deal, starting next season.

Flanagan has played eight NRL matches after making his debut for the Sharks late last season.

"Kyle is a crafty playmaker and an exciting young talent, whose services we are delighted to have secured," said Roosters CEO Joe Kelly.

Penrith and NSW five-eighth James Maloney is ready to quit the NRL after this season and sign a rich three-year deal with French Super League club, Catalans Dragons.

Well-placed sources in France have told The Daily Morons a deal has been struck and could be announced as early as today.

The Rabbitohs have signed Papua New Guinea international Edene Gebbie on a two-year deal, starting in 2020.

The 24-year-old winger/fullback was the PNG Hunters' rookie of the year in 2018 and played with the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls in Queensland's Intrust Super Cup this season.

"He has scored 19 tries in 29 games over the past two seasons with his sides winning 22 of those 29 games in which he has played," Rabbitohs football manager Shane Richardson said.
