Dragons terminate Nielsen's contract
Tue 05 May, 2015, 4:14pm
By Dragons Media, EMAIL

The St George Illawarra Dragons have terminated the contract of Dane Nielsen effective immediately for breaches of his obligations under his NRL Contract.

Nielsen was involved in an incident in a public premise at Cronulla on Sunday, March 22 and had been stood down from all Club activities since this time, while receiving counselling support from the Club.

“This is an unfortunate circumstance for both Dane and the Club and the decision has followed a thorough investigation undertaken by the Club and the NRL Integrity Unit as well as a Hearing before the Board of the St George Illawarra Dragons,” said Dragons CEO Peter Doust.

Ashley Taylor looks likely to be at Manly according to NRL 360 - considered a star in the making. Interesting.

Issac Luke 2 the NZ Warriors which means we miss out on Cameron Mcinnes. Hope this isn't 2 negative but have we signed anyone yet?

Demand for Darcy
Rival clubs are circling hard-hitting Parramatta prop Darcy Lussick in a bid to sign him before the June 30 transfer deadline.

Several clubs short on front-rowers due to early-season injuries are making enquiries about doing a deal with the big prop before deadline day.

The Sharks spoke to Lussick’s manager last week, knowing they will be without Paul Gallen, Andrew Fifita and Luke Lewis during State of Origin.

The Sea Eagles desperately need more oomph in the forwards and are also making approaches.

Lussick is best mates with Daly Cherry-Evans, who has suggested to the Titans that they pick up the former Manly prop next season.

Lussick comes off contract at the end of the year and may even do a deal with a Sydney club until September - and then join the Titans in 2016.

So Manly apparently want Lussick, but DCE is telling him to sign with The Titans, FURTHER undermining our club.

FMD. Who cursed us with him and Foran?

He probably made that suggestion around the time he agreed to terms with them.

How does that make it better? The week we got pumped, he was on the phones to Gaigai. It's an absolute falacy. Recruit NEXT year FFS.

Putting myself in his shoes he was probably a bit disenchanted with the way the club had been treating him and was trying to make the best of it for next year. Gagai was probably deep into talks with the Knights and I guess he thought he might hold some sway. Assuming it was even his idea.

I think there will already be a couple of new signings done - that will be released AFTER round 13 - like everyone else would love to know NOW - frustrating, but at the same time refreshing that 1 club handles this process with a bit of class.
