The games where Manly have excelled, has been a more energetic effort, winning contacts and quick play balls....especially through the middle. Thing is Tigers "force" offloads, with risky offloads Needs to be done like Storm or Dogs on the back of good go forward and winning quick play balls to create momentum Top teams will do this come finals and this along with unstructured individuals like Munster will break games open and decide...- maxta

Lodge came our first couple games at Manly like a Beast.... unfortunately after not 1...but 2 injuries....just not the same and on the slide... the only thing I disagree about as a bloke who is far from a Ldge fan, at least shows a bit of fire in the belly unlike most forwards in this current...- maxta

Pretty much agree, though offloads and 2nd phase are a must against your structured defensive sides like Melbourne, Penrith and Dogs....fact is we are so far off this level,the more fundamental areas starting at dummy half, needs to be improved before thinking about the riskier stuff, as...- maxta

Usually agree but brooks took em on way more and we were better for it .... problem was, not off second phase or defence compromised so closed him down ....but in general 200% fair call- maxta

Firstly, there's so much wrong defensively, but just prefer thoughts on attack this thread. I feel the expansive attack on early tackles from long range, is a great attribute with the likes of Saab, Koula, Turbo and more to utilise 1 of the quickest NRL back lines. There is money for upgrades outside of relying on Aloiai, there are certain players the club are waiting for, but aside from that factor.....Fermor and Mooney are the types you would want the club looking at in terms of good quality options.- maxta

The obvious go to forwards include Mooney and Fermor....how Klemmer is even mentioned can't be correct.....there is still interest in a player on 2 (forwards) from Qld clubs which hopefully heats up come November, but the way things are going at Manly, it's like joining a circus- maxta

I seen Tooves as pretty good - he called for accountability...and investigations !! Such a passionate bloke, you could feel his desire for a Manly win every and he didn't go for the excuse book. I know that mate, but in this case I knew there was a Seibold coach thread "or 8", but felt this was a differing view not about his coaching, more a key point between "the players " and Seibold that was now decsending into Mestrovs involvement also....pretty major differences imo I think I done...- maxta

Storm make BIG 4 work - we don't
Every club has a few players on "big money" in various positions Storm it's the "spine"....Storm has the 1,6,7 and 9 and build around that with great success around that and for some reason (maybe trainers and systems in place), they have very few injuries apart from Pappenhuyzen more recently- maxta
