    Thanks mate — latest intel is that Tartak’s thrown Manly’s offer back asking for a counter. Word is we’re right in the mix, and there’s a bit of confidence we can land TDS if we move quickly. Still a live situation — four bids are in, but we’re very much in it.

    Unfortunately hasn’t been reported in the press, more one of those things you just hear down the corso. Context: said to be leaving the tigers, managed by Mario Tartak who has a presence in the club already, Manly area of deficiency at hooker (we have plenty but they are all poor).

    I think you’re far too quick to rule out Cronulla, if they’re selling an asset to the NRL, they are certainly a club that is currently asset rich and cashflow poor. I’d actually guess they’re the most likely candidate.
