Poor little JT, don't you know he's a Queensland  "official treasure"

Where's that carpet now.....Mmmmm....over here JT

I have not been here for a few days and now DSM is a mod?

Well played. Well played

Oh and JT is great on the field and clearly not so great away from it...

you get away with it in QLD-they're all piss heads.

They would think he's a great BLOKE.

Sydney-you can't look sideways. I kinda like the QLD mentality, as long as the peers reign it in when required.

Were over policed!!!!!!!!!!!!! but Thurston is a scaley dickwit!

When Brett was arrested,it was \"after a Manly pre-season launch\",even though the event happened nowhere near the launch. When thurston is arrested,it's \"in the street\",nothing about where he was previously.Double standards??BTW-I think it was the launch of the indigenous all-stars (or something similar),so the league won't want a blemish on THAT!!

Reported up here they were still 'celebrating' Mad Monday. I know when you win 5 games all season that's all you want to do is go and hit the piss and celebrate the season of mediocrity and the Cowboy's wonder why they lurch from one season to another

On last night's news the first person on to stand up for JT and label him a good bloke was Darren Lockyer. No surprise there. Beetson claimed that the arrest was an over-reaction by the police. Then this gem "I think the press has overreacted and I think the coppers have had a brain snap too."

Maybe so, but the NRL has spent a fortune attempting to get players to realise their responsibilities and what is acceptable. Looks like money down the drain a lot of the time.

I haven't seen a single comment from Gallop.

Fck me boys. This is hardly breaking news as it was reported. It was completely blown up by the Media! The bloke got pissed, had a wrestle and ignored a cop. Sounds like me 3 weekends out of 4. Maybe i'm a **** bag too. Most likely actually! Certainly not all, but alot of footballers come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and they're given all this money and expected to be top notch citizens. Sure there is a drinking culture in rugby leage but there is a problem in society too. It was acceptable not so long ago. In fact, it was taught! It won't disappear over night.

Hey Fonz, the 50's are calling you! ;)

All good and said in jest.
The only issue we really bang on about is the treatment of Brett and Manly, and the treatment for others. Outside of that it just isn't a good look for the game in 2010 and these incidences will definitely be reported on by the media.

Cowboys are turning over 18 of their 25 person first grade squad. No wonder they are partying.

As for Fonz and your comments, not everyone gets arrested after a night out. Not everyone has multi-million dollar contracts and have signed a code of conduct related to standards in a multi-million dollar game.

Lets hope that Gallop comes out and at least makes a statement about Thurston.  Or is he waiting for the Cowboys to act first?

At the very least he should be stood down from the captaincy of the Cowboys.

This reeks of double standards...

This just highlights a very big problem that exists in the nrl.  These guys are supposed to be premier athletes and should be setting a good example to the community and the game's fans.  If these guys can't control themselves when they have a drink then they shouldn't be drinking at all.

Obviously you missed my point. So here it goes!

It's not breaking news. Earthquakes, people who get stuck in mine shafts, and the suspect disappearance of 3yr old girls are breaking news!

A footballer being pissed in public is not breaking news. It's a beat up story designed to flog a dead horse.

Would he have even been arrested if he wasn't Jonathon Thurston? Debatable.
How many cops turned up to arrest 3 blokes again? Give me a effen break!

Exactly, look at Brett Seymour from the start of last year, he didn't get arrested, just un-lucky to be filmed and the video sold to Nein.

But The Sharks still stood him down.

Mate are you seriously ignorant enough to believe the 4 weeks was for being drunk?

Did anyone else notice that he is still on crutches, real good way to look after your injury, go & get pissed & wrestling on top of a taxi

If you heard him speak during that interview you would understand why he does these things.

If he wasnt playing league he'd be stacking shelves at Woolies.
