It is not easy facing the camera after loses

We do not want them to be in a state of comfort zone

We need them to face the cameras and face the music
We need them to be accountable for their performances

What is starting to concern me with all their .... We look forward to the challenge is

They have been looking forward to the challenge from their past 12 thrashings

I hope it is not a case of

What does not challenge you wont change you

Because right now we need a massive change that will lead to a WIN !!!!
Well said Bozo

You do realise, this is a spectator sport, as Trent Robinson recently stated? The game is for the members and fans, because without them, none of these paid players have jobs or income.

It's ALL about goodwill (i.e. customers) - including ratings.

There is a huge disengagement between our club and the fans / members. This should be paramount when they are laying duck eggs week after week.

Fans thrive on hope, realism, clarity, engagement, interaction. Our club lacks in every one of these areas. It's called accountability. You know how many fans Josh McGuire got for a bit of realism and honesty?
I agree, NRL is in the entertainment industry.
However I doubt that players - or coaches - making stirring speeches or giving up tidbits of inside information would make any difference to us fans if our team continues to get belted. There are only so many times you can say the same thing without it becoming a cliche.
I haven't bothered watching todays new release blockbuster interviews, what can they possibly say that would make me feel better? That we've signed Tedesco to cover fullback? and Papenhuyzen to cover hooker? Well that aint happening!!

I think it's wrong for players to be forced to do interviews, primarily because they are hamstrung from saying anything useful.
They can't be critical of anyone, they have to appear optimistic about next week's match, they can't divulge any worthwhile tactics or else the coach will lambast them...
They can't be honest. Basically they are a waste of time.
It might give fans of winning teams a warm and fuzzy feeling to hear from their favs, but when teams are playing like Manly there is nothing to say.
Agree 100%, it always bothers me, I even get p1ssed at players being harassed at half time while trying to get into the sheds, too many times these blokes are left to give reasons for why their team is or isn't performing, that's not why they sign on, to me it's total BS, the club has people paid to give these answers not the playing staff, horses for courses

I think it is a disgrace that they allow players to front the media after disastrous defeats. They mumble and come up with the usual cliches. They are not sure what to say. Nor should they.
The club should have established a response that all players were aware of. And they should have not been allowed to talk to the media.
Only Des er..umm er..um or the CEO should talk to the media.
Seeing poor Walker explaining Manly's crap season was embarrassing and I felt for the guy.
Manly management is a train wreck. No strategy. So amateurish.
The cleanout needs to start at the top.

You are entitled to that opinion. I personally don’t want to hear anything from them. I just want them to play footy on the weekend. Hope will come from a good performance not fancy works during the week. As a spectator, I watch the games for the action, whereas the media puff pieces don’t entertain me much at all.

Agree 100% Snake.

I don't even watch them. Words are cheap. Get out there and do your job.

I saw the article with Dylan Walker’s comments.

He wonders why he is scapegoat. Well, he signs with Manly as international and premiership winning centre from South’s, goes on a drug fuelled bender and nearly kills himself, and then wonders why we are upset when he has never performed to his potential at this club.

Out of the 250 or so games that Steve Matai played with Manly, I reckon 180 of them were better performances that Dylan Walkers best game.

May sound harsh but it’s true.

I think all NRL clubs have to make players available, which is wrong. It shouldn't be compulsory and clubs should collectively stand up to the NRL about this.
If anyone should be speaking to the media, apart from the coach, I agree that our CEO would be the most appropriate. He'd utter the same cliches but at least he'd do it in a polished way.
