Ahh, the Newcastle favours from the ref... Oh, you wanna stop the play and set your defensive line, fine. Oh, you want me to stop the Sharkie defenders tackling you, fine. It's just sickening how certain teams/players seem to get treated preferentially.

When you watch non-Manly matches with a balanced view you see just how many inconsistencies there is in the game. The Bunker seems to be able to intervene at will and change the course of play. The refs make plenty of mistakes that lead up to a try but the Bunker won't look further back than the final play. It is a nonsense that the Bunker is supposed to stop howlers and yet it turns a blind eye to obvious errors leading up to the final movement. And of course we know that it can rule on players being offside but not on the ball being passed forward. It's a very confusing sport now, compounded by the six-again rule and the crackdown on high shots, shoulder charges, concussions, interchanges and crusher rorts.

Ponga clearly not fit. Hardly involved today at all. Just hung around the back of the ruck staying out of trouble.

looks like Fifita (Andrew) copped a serious hit in the throat.

Cronulla Sharks front-rower Andrew Fifita is under specialist care in a Brisbane hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties from a heavy blow in Sunday’s game against the Newcastle Knights.
The 2016 grand final hero had to be treated by paramedics on the sideline at Moreton Bay Daily Stadium in Redcliffe after suffering a blow to his throat in a tackle on Knights forward Tyson Frizell.
