NSW State of Origin star Michael Jennings has been arrested and charged with offensive behaviour after an overnight drinking session in Parramatta.
The man-of-the-match from Wednesday night’s game in Melbourne was arrested at approximately 2.30am in the company of one of his brothers.
His club the Sydney Roosters were notified on Saturday morning and have reported the incident to the NRL integrity unit.
“We are still waiting for more details,” said Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan.
“He’s been squeaky clean with us at the Roosters and that’s why this is so surprising.
“From a club point of view we’re really disappointed he was out at that time of night.”
The Roosters will release a statement later today.

Police have charged a man and issued a ticket to another, following an alleged incident of offensive behaviour in Parramatta this morning.
About 2.30am (Saturday 20 June 2015), officers from Parramatta Local Area Command were patrolling a car park at Erby Place, when they allegedly saw a man kicking a boom gate.
As they walked up to him another man approached the officers allegedly in an aggressive manner.
The man, aged 27, was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station was issued with a field court attendance notice for hindering police and offensive behaviour, to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday 20 July 2015.
The other man, aged 19, allegedly kicked the boom gate and was later issued with a criminal infringement notice for offensive behaviour.
