TENSIONS are expected to boil over at the NRL’s chief executive meeting this week with a fired up Canberra boss Don Furner preparing to confront NRL officials and demand an explanation as to why Kieran Foran’s severance package was not
included in the salary cap.

Furner has hit out at the NRL’s decision to allow Parramatta not to include Foran’s $150,000 release in the salary cap.

His frustrations come as the Sunday Telegraph revealed last week became the first club to take advantage of a new rule which NRL club’s approved to allow the integrity unit to exclude payouts from the salary cap where for conduct and behaviour issues it is in the best interests of the game for a player to leave a club.

Or

Furner is 100 percent correct to ask why the NRL continues to aid and abet the whinging worms over their salary cap rorting. Greenturd has much to answer for over this as his weak leadership has opened the flood gates to rorting the cap. That money had to be declared on their cap as should Whatmoughs after the stunt they pulled in getting him off their cap.

The eels and Brad Arthur signed Watmough on a massive illegal deal and in the process that helped to break the manly culture and was one of the reasons why Tooves fell out with the rest of the plying group and the mgmt and helped to convince Foran to leave as well.

So Watmough plays half a season and then is forced to retire mid way through his second season and all the illegal cash that was thrown at him which helped with Manly losing some of its culture is not counted under the cap.

How that works is beyond belief. If the insurance company won't pay watmough's contract then it must come under the cap and same with Foran's severance pay.

BA made these signing decisions. He should bear the brunt of them.

Good move by Furner.
Get the punters behind your team, then the media jumps on board, then you get a charmed run to the GF.

Maybe.....

Go Jen!
BA should just FO away from our players. He took a lot from our club. It ended up a bad move letting him in, in the first place.

Can he also ask why the Broncos get a Thurs night game before the finals while their likely opponent Penrith has to play Sunday night. Oh yeah I forgot. The NRL's one rule for some and another rule for the non rating teams policy. You know, the one introduced by that Greenturd c*nt.
Even more sinister is why it's a 6:30pm Sunday game? Everyone else gets a 4pm gig :wondering:

The final Sunday game of the minor round (which next week is Penrith vs Manly) is actually the game that would have been played on the Monday night, but since they don't want a Monday game the week before the finals they move it to the Sunday but play it in the evening so it is still the final game of the regular season.

However, there is not really much of a coincidence that Brisbane get a Thursday night before the finals (Melbourne also get it too) while the Dogs and Cowboys get the Friday night. Nein want their higher rating teams to go into the finals as fresh as possible. They did it the past two or three years by having Souffs vs Chooks on the Thursday before the finals. Its so blatantly obvious, but nothing will change (and I doubt it will change much even after the NRL get control of the draw from Nein in 2018).

As for Don Furner's comments.....he's right on the money IMO.

If only Parra hadn't sacked him at the end of 2012.

On the other hand, I think he was a big part of why Manly made the GF in 2013. The team's defence was certainly very good that year, especially come the finals.

When Carlton were caught cheating the AFL's salary cap in 2002, the league came down on them that hard that they have only managed to play finals 4 times since and it took them 7 years to place any better than 11th.

And like doesn't-matta in Sydney, Carlton are one of the more popular clubs in Melbourne. But that was never an issue for the AFL when handing out its punishment, unlike with the current NRL office. Carlton got caught cheating and were dealt with harshly. doesn't-matta were caught cheating and were basically given a slap on the wrist and asked nicely to pretty please not to be naughty again.

The fact that doesn't-matta are still allowed to sign players from other clubs for next year shows that the NRL's administration, led by that bald headed slimebag Toad Greenturd, is weak as pi$$.
