RLW just tweeted that Uate is a certainty for us in 2017.

I guess there's our vacant wing spot filled , BUT, it's either a master stroke ( he's rejuvenated at a new club) OR he's another Lewis Brown ( or worse ).

It's says Newcastle will be paying half of his $500,000 salary next year, is $250,000 too much for Uate or a good deal?

He surely isn't on 750k per season? For a winger? Hahaha. TBH, if he WAS on that money, you want him to be a regular game winner, and if he wasn't consistently, you could see why Brown would have got frustrated with him and played him in NSW Cup

After he signed a 4 year deal with the Knights in 2013 Akuila the Thriller as he is known had lost his passion to Thrill
Akuila Uate A three time Dally M Winger of the Year, Uate has represented New South Wales in State of Origin and both Fiji and Australia in international football. He is also a New South Wales Country, NRL All Stars and Prime Minister's XIII representative. He plays at wing and is currently the highest try-scorer in the Newcastle Knights' history.

I agree with Jake back to prop but we have know one to put in the backrow hole left by Buhrer moving to lock.

Apart from the addition of Blake Green and the possible reinclusion of Steve Matai the team looks almost exactly the same as this year.

If we lose those two to injury we can expect the same results as this year.
We seem to be acquiring plenty of journeymen, hopefully we are investing in youth as well !

Still think both Tom Wright and Jamil will find their way into the Manly 1sts early next year. Maybe not at first given Barrett's tendency for conservatism, but I suspect along with Meehan and Parker, they'll get their chance before mid season. Of course that depends upon who makes the 25 cut off. Who do you think will make it.

I hope this doesn't sound too negative, but I hope Brown and Myles spend lots of time in NSW Cup, and our young guys get a better go.
