But I always thought you liked Zorba? None of us have had any clue that you were a Bob Fulton fan.

😛

I have only met one Manly player in my life (2 actually, though one was well before he became a Sea Eagle). That was Fatty when he played for a South Australian "select" side against Wally Lewis' Gold Coast Seagulls here in Adelaide in 1992 the night before the Australian Grand Prix. I was a ball boy lol. The other was Brenton Lawrence when he played U/14s for the Central Districts Roosters here as a kid.

But my all time Manly hero was the genius himself. Sir Cliffy of Brookvale, closely followed in a 3-way tie for second by Tooves, Beaver and Snake.
Thank you for sharing your life experience and your heroes . Memories of our heroes never die . They are all like immortal status in our mind .
Zorba was a tough skilful forward who stirred the opposition just like he still stirs the Silvertails fans lol . He still got it !!!
Another hero of mine that comes second only to the Incomparable Immortal Is Elvis

Can't deny that Zorba loves Manly, but his methods are a bit on the nose.

The sad thing is that I've been a Manly fan since 1982 and in that time have only seen them play live twice. I saw more Adelaide Rams games live...and St George when they played in Adelaide in the early 90s.

But isn't it great that you can watch them on tv . Live or replay we still watch our team play . That is my view .

Thankfully yes. If this was the 1980s in Adelaide I'd have to try to convince my local newsagent to get in a copy of Rugby League Week just for me because the coverage of league here back then was virtually non-existent.

Mate, my local newsagent doesn't even have a comics section any more. Most of what they have on the shelves now is stationary and school supplies.

I have to find somewhere else to get my Phantom's :swear::swear::swear:

Nice story and gesture by Tom and all that i can add is part of the verse of the old song , Tom Tom turn around ,don't ever let me down .

Questions like this are always difficult, like your favourite Manly win, best try etc. My response is countless!
Watching Bozo from his first season and beaming (me that is) with pride when he played for Australia in the 1968 World Cup and for what he has done for Manly in many capacities, he is a hero. Having met him was an honour and contrary to others, he was quite generous with gifts of his personal memorabilia. Another hero is Max Krilich. Breathes and lives Manly and a great guy to talk to about footy. Watching Johnny Gibbs from when he started in 3rd grade/Under 23's and his progress through all levels of the game, might not be a hero to all but has to be admired and another great one to meet and talk to.
The tough guy hero's like Terry Randall have to be considered. Stood up to the marauding Wests and Newtown packs.Tough backs like Steve Matai and the gifted ones like Jamie Lyon, Cliff Lyons, Graham Eadie. Might not have answered your original question but there you go.

The media knows that everyone's undisputed hero is sCam Smith.

That's why they tells us so 3 times a week.
