Whether the team is winning or losing should be irrelevant.

I don't think the winning / losing is the reason people are turning away:

X Raft of Club sons forced to leave
X Long term Staff sacked
X Match Fixing Allegations
X Management & Ownership mistreating fans
X Certain coaches / players showing an apathy to losing
X Lots of losing culture ring ins from The Tigers / Titans / High School
X Poor facilities
X Poor communication
X Average signings (all but one from reserve grade or less)
X Continued back-office disharmony
X Unknowns around favoured sons (Stewart / Matai)

would be but a few reasons people are losing interest.

Fans that would turn away, just because we are losing, aren't fans at all to be honest,

Not sure. I'm just saying I don't think Manly fans are the types that leave through bad form. We are much better quality than that.

Yeah, not sure where you're getting the idea that those who are potentially going to be lost to the club (or at least putting in a protest) are doing so simply because the team missed the finals.
Do you really believe all the whinging threads about direction, alienation & attitudes are simply a ruse created by people who can't take a loss?

The ones on this forum are not so simplistic as to just look at wins & losses.

A casual fan maybe, but no point talking to or about them. They aren't here.

I've heard supporters on these forums say they won't go to games - they'll vote with their feet. They won't renew memberships - in a stance against the ownership and direction the clubs heading.
But...
My point is - if the club was winning - these threats (empty or not) wouldn't be made.

If we just won the comp - the whinging would still be around as it has been forever - but the crowds wouldn't die off and member numbers be down, in fact quite the opposite.

Some only make a stance if the teams losing.

@Duff 's right mate, come on. You're preaching to the converted here. I'd say everyone (as different as we all are) on this forum is a die hard, passionate fan.

Was just trying to get some laughs mate. It's all good. Opinion's are great. I just think the fans you'd need to worry about, are the casual fans that aren't plugged in.

I'd say everyone on these boards are a plugged in fan, no matter where they are from or who they are.

I take it that the more frustrated, angry or upset someone is, shows how passionate they are about the tides of the team.

I'll always be open to those types of fans. Being negative doesn't make one more or less of a fan. That's a huge misconception. They have probably over thought things - me especially hahahaha.
