I have got off pretty lightly over the years. In my league days the worst injuries were slight ligament damage and a few pulled muscles though a back injury finished me off.

Since then I have pulled a hammy or two, and popped a calf muscle twice. Once was four years ago and the other was today. It was like being shot in the calf and I can hardly walk.

I am sure there will be some good stories of injuries out there. Who has had a shocker?

Tore my ACL and some cartilage playing touch footy about 5 years ago now. Just had the reconstruction in December (I have photos from the operation if anyone is interested :p) and it won't be fully fixed for at least another 6 months. So far this year it's already meant I've missed out on paintballing and scuba diving :wall:

ACL in 1999. Re constructed in 2001. Knee worse now than before the operation thanks to a butcher with a scalpel in Orange.

Never really got injured when I played footy.

Got knocked out once or twice but that was about it.

Worst i've had is when I was at a party and a bloke there was being a dickhead and I got asked to help bugger him off... so we "escorted" him out the front and then we turned around to walk back to the house and he jumped the gate and ran straight into me from behind.. sort of shouldering me. I ended up breaking 2 ribs and just general bruising around the area.

I was very tender... breaking your ribs is very very painful... nothing can be done.. just sit there and try not to breathe too much cuz breathing freakin hurts!

Nothing too bad for me.

Was raining one day so we had cricket training in the sports hall, was running a single, sent back and my body went but knee didnt and heard a pop. Biked home and then went onto the docs, and they said ligiment damage. Was still giving me trouble about 4 years later so got sent to specialist and they found that it was a tear in the patella tendon that hadnt healed properly, so had to have an op where they cut that piece out and sewed the rest back together, isnt too bad now.

Other than that have broken a finger underneath a bomb, and also catching a basketball, and i tore a muscle in my back bowling at indoor cricket, that was agony for a week or so.

My mate had a good story, playing rugby, got let go by the lifters in the lineout and 'hurt' his leg. Walked back to school, biked about 6km home and went to bed. Thought the next morning he would go to the docs coz it was a bit sore, and spent the next couple of weeks in hospital, he had completely snapped his leg and needed a pin put in there.

broken my arm playing school yard footy

Torn my calf muscle 3 times last year in fact its a yearly njury in soccer pretty much we all get it.

The ligiment in my right knee tore out a chunk of bone

fractured ribs twice

Currently still nursing loose bone fragment and a suplexed knee on the right knee
All part and parcel of playing soccer I guess. The knee injury came to light over xmas from walking only weird. But it has been there for a few years apparantly. It has slowed me down a fair bit and probably the worst injury I have had and ongoing as well.

Also had a dart thrown into my arm
attacked by a dog and so much more

boys will be boys

The only injuries I have ever really had were from playing league.

I have dislocated both of my shoulders. Left shoulder twice. I have dislocated my left knee cap and 6 fingers.

I've torn my right hamstring once and left calf muscle once. I had my ear ripped from my head 1cm down from the top after being tackled with it (****ing morons) and I have bruised rib cartilage.

However the most painful thing I have ever experienced was a bone marrow extraction.

Silly question I know, but what does being shot compare to pain wise. That is just fked up toovs.

cant claim anything too bad, jsut long. Tore the cartlidge in my knee, painful but not excrutiating, 3 months of rehab before i could walk up 2 stairs type thing. Pain when running for about 3 years.

Broke my arm but it didnt hurt as my body was in shock. It was flopping all over the place with a pins and needles type feel.

Dan - at soccer i just used to roll my ankle every few months, now they are that flexible that i can stand with my feet 90 degrees inwards and my ankle on the ground with no pain at all.

haha speaking of flexible my gf spent the whole night at sounds trying to get upside down on the polls that were there and doing lap dances and pole dancing............i like her!

Broken arm, broken finger, dislocated fingers, cracked ribs.

Probably not the most painful but strangest was about 5 years ago when I made a comeback in local pub comp at 36 years of age (should have known better)

Anyway being a big lump I went in to put a shoulder charge on the oppositions biggest player we had a head clash and i ended up bursting my eardrum and had blood running out my ear. A few days later I developed Bells Palsey and the left side of my face was paralysed took about six weeks to get back to work and even now is probably only 90% right.

Lucky both me and the other guy were wearing headgear as it might have killed us (he spent a few days in hospital).

Nothing for me really. Spent most of my league days at hooker and only serious injury was my back, which put me out for over a year.

Since playing rugby down here I have broken my hand and torn a quad, thats about it really.

My boss has had some shockers though. Had his ear almost completely torn off in a ruck and needed 18 stitches to re-attach it.

I’ve been pretty lucky injury wise just broken noses/ toes fingers- nothing major.
A mate who was playing for a club around this area last season (Darlington Point Coleambally Roosters) was telling me a story about a bloke who was playing with them last season.
This bloke is hard as nails and was sitting on a bench all through the half time break in the sheds until when they were just about to go back on he said, “fellas I might need to sit this half out for a little bit.”
The other players thought this was weird (cause you usually had to drag him off the field) so they asked why so he pulled his shorts up to reveal that his sack had been gashed open and a testy was hanging out (I’m serious).
They spun out and one guy just threw up everywhere. Everyone then said- “get to hospital you idiot,” so what did he do….sit down and roll a smoke….saying, “I’m not goin anywhere unless I have one of these hanging out my gob!”
Apparently he stopped for a chat on the way to the car and the poor lady he was talking to had no idea his nut was hanging out- took him another 20mins to get to hospital.

PJ that happened to my nephew just this weekend gone.

He is only 4 and he was climbing the toilet in the bathroom. He slipped and fell into the shower glass that obviously wasn't strengthened. It sliced his ball sack clean open from one side to the other and his nuts drooped out.

He went up to his dad and said 'Dad, can I please have a band-aid" and Murry looked at him and his nuts were hanging out of his sack.

In the ER his mum was crying and at the top of his voice Jai said "WHAT, ITS NOT LIKE I"VE JUST DIED".
