Worst buy of 2021

For me it's been

David Fifita.
$1.25m man and he had been lazy and uninterested in getting dirty and doing the 1 percenters. It's like he has been trained by Ash Taylor 🙂

Worst Coach - simple, there is only one Zoolander - Twent Barrett.

2022 just like 2021. Watching the battle between Titans and Newcastle.

At least these two have been consistent.

Pity Fifita wasn't playing under supercoach Twent when he was coaching.

Boy this didn’t age well :whew:
Your right, but that comment was made when Dearden had played 10 games for the cows and was 0 from 10, after having left the Bronco’s (presumably let go as Kevie made the statement they were looking for experience, guess they got what they wanted signing Reynolds) he‘d play 22 games at the Donkeys for 4 wins over 3 seasons, the Sharks had just shown Chad the door mid season, his form was more than ordinary at the time, the cows were running last or 15th on the ladder, it seemed unlikely to be successful at the time, but credit where credit is due, Deardon and Townsend have gelled and are doing far better than I expected, Payton and his boys have done a great job and the rest is history.

I’m not to sure too many saw their turn around coming about the way it has, hard to fathom how successful it has been given the preceding circumstances, anyway good luck to them, you can clearly see they have worked their backsides off and are enjoying the spoils of their hard work. I hope we meet them in the finals, where we should be properly motivated to make amends for our last meeting.

The Cowboys coach did and that is what matters.

Townsend is getting rewarded for his forward's dominance. The Cowboys have succeeded off the back of defence and Townsend has been steady without being brilliant. Ditto Dearden. Drinkwater has been the most effective playmaker for the Cowboys.

Townsend came off like a really wanker on 'mic'ed up' too. I wanted to punch his head in after the Manly game.

Don’t disagree with any of that, might just add that they are supper fit and their whole defensive unit has been effective, most notably their scrambling and cover defence. Be interesting to see if they can keep it up, or if their approach takes a toll later in the year, I’m thinking it may already be showing, losing Cotter for a few weeks might show it up a little sooner.
Chad come off like a wanker because his a wanker, I’m still pissed they got the points over us, I thought we did such a good job at shutting Drinkwater down for the best part of the game, anyway the rest is history, we all saw it, like I said I’d be happy to meet them in the finals and hopefully we do.

Haha great post!

The way he went off at the referee reminded me of a few handball games in the school playground that turned a bit ugly after someone called ‘lines’!

You make a good point about the wear and tear of their style potentially catching up with them by season’s end. It can take a couple of years for that style to be sustainable. Remember the Dragons of 09, 10, 11? They faded badly in 09 and 11 because it was such a taxing approach to the game. They peaked in 2010 but couldn’t sustain it either side of that season.

Totally agree, it looked like poor recruiting at the time and I doubt many saw the Cowboys resurgence coming this season other than Todd Payten.
As you say, good on them and hopefully we get to the finals with the experience in our squad
