Rules have been announced. No 2 point field goals. No penalties for ruck infringements, just 6 again calls. Captain challenge included.

And so he should Bozo, most half's would stand out behind a SOO pack weather it was Qld or NSW.
This is it he really doesn't stand out in Origin IMO. Meninga uses Munster as strike and go to and DCE plays a good game backing up in the middle and kicking late in the tackle count. He is utilised by Meninga very differently to the way he plays for us. Manly's pack get drained playing without the footy for extended periods of time generally from, six agains, errors and DCE kicking the ball early in our tackle count, or DCE crabbing across field not hitting running forwards with the ball in space. It not just playing behind a dominant pack its also the way you use what's around you. I'd like to see Des control DCE and play him the way Queensland do.

World Cup selection for Australia will be interesting. We could be a tad light on up front. It's possible both the Dally M player of the year and the Clive Churchill medalist will miss out. Or at least one of them.

Interesting that DCE is not in the (official) leadership group - indicating maybe that he won't be in the top thirteen. The team is a bit thin in outside backs, although maybe Burton will be used in the centres. Possible top seventeen?

1. Tedesco
2. JAC
3. Burton/Wighton
4. Mitchell
5. Holmes
6. Munster
7. Cleary
8. Carrigan
9. Grant
10. RCG
11. Crichton
12. Murray
13. Yeo
14. Hunt
15. Nanai/Martin
16. Tino
17. Collins/Cotter

Well done to DCE and Jake for making the squad. Jake is a big chance of making the first 17 with only 5 genuine props named in the squad. RCG couldn't keep him out of Origin team so don't see why he gets picked ahead of him in Kangaroo side. I reckon Jake and Collins are the starting props in that group. Bench from 2 of Tino/Cotter/Carrigan.

Centers are interesting, Campbell Graham the only genuine centre named there, although Holmes played a fair bit of centre this year. They must be looking at Latrell as a centre with Wighton and Burton as depth in that spot too.
