Hiku was brilliant in last year's semi as well. Hope that the Dogs don't take him

Do we know when Snake will be back ?
Seems to be a serious hamstring issue if we haven't seen him in 3 1/2 weeks :s

Hope Gifty is OK

I can't believe that The Easts Coach disputes the shoulder charge

Can't see Peter staying with Brett having another 3 years. He will also command bigger dollars. We do also have Gutherson and Tom T coming through so can't keep everyone.

The good thing is our depth is coping well so far and that we can function with out the Stewart boys if we have too, that has to give the team enormous confidence moving forward.

Sadly no but would be a pity to lose Hiku

Matai man stepped up again.

I posted a great article from the papers today - Jethro will get it online soon.
And look again, eight minutes after that, when the Sea Eagles Public Enemy No. 1 drove Anthony Minichiello so far back into his own in-goal at the northern end of the ground, two schooners were knocked from the front bar of the Olympic Hotel.

Peta, for the last two seasons, has been playing far more regularly than Snake.

He has done more than an adequate job. Not for the first time, he was faultless tonight.

If you wanted value for money, in terms of turning up each week, you'd choose Peta over Snake. However, from a marketing point, Snake offers so much more and is arguably (along with his brother and Choc) the heart of this Manly team. Plus, Snake has the ability to turn matches on their head with his attacking brilliance.

Unfortunately, Peta will be demanding a lot more money when his contract is up for renewal, and I feel we simply won't be able to keep both full backs.

We really need to pay what we need to to keep Hiku. Without him we can't cope with Snakes injury issues. Any other option knocks us around much more. Plus he is also our preferred backup for halves and centres. His flexibility in these three positions short or long term makes him essential to keep.

Thinking Hiku has to replace Wolfy when Horhay returns. Don't want to lose this guy considering the injury problems that haunt Snake and let's not forget the traitor and his open chequebook are lurking

It's a young mans game. Peta Hiku and Jamie Buhrer are more important to keep the either of the Stewart brothers. They have had their time. 12 Years isn't it. Time they accept a lot less or move on. The new generation is here. As for Gutherson or Little turbo instead of Hiku. No way. Hiku is already an NRL standout. Those other 2 have potential but a lot of under 20's stars just can't take that step up to nrl level. Hiku must stay IMO.

I see him as a future centre prospect myself, but we are still stuck in same situation with him behind Killer and Skivvy. How we keep him interested in staying without the likelihood of significant game time over the next few seasons is an issue.

This, I think Hiku will end up replacing Skivvy or Killer. The reality is with snake, wolf and skivvy all missing games every season, Hiku is our superstar backline utility specialist who will play most of the season. He will almost certainly get spot in the team in the future.

The problem is other clubs know this and the scum dogs will probably throw good coin at him.

Does anyone know when Hiku is off contract?

Agree he's our super-sub; agree he's probably best as a centre ( but perfect filler at fullback)
but Snake at the back adds the X-Factor, and confidence we need to go to that next level.

Good that we're coping without the Stewie brothers at times , but with them there we really could win the whole thing again!

Fingers crossed.
