Will to the centres

I really am becoming a grumpy old bastaard ... I just want to slap anybody who even thinks about putting Taupau in the 2nd Row.
I've had the same thoughts but to be honest, if we don't recruit a very good second rower this year for next, I am not confident Siro/Winter can do the job with consistancy week in week out.. Still early days though.. Here's one.. what about Kapow to lock and Jurbo to front row. I think Jurbo is a natural no nonsense front rower who can play big minutes. Not quick enough to play lock IMO and has the Matt Scott body type. Would like to see Baz move him to starting prop with Lussick (long term). Then have AFB, Kapow (if not at lock/2nd row) and that beast from the tigers coming off the bench

Agree with you that Siro/Winterstein are not going to be the Kangaroo 2nd row anytime soon, but don't give up on them. They only played 8 and 3 first grade games last year at an average of 51 and 58 minutes. They will both improve as 80min players each week. I believe they have both been fundamental in our improved defence the past 3 weeks.

In attack we know Siro has skills, it is interesting to note as other have that Winterstein greatly increased his attacking runs and showed he can get some good off-loads/passes away last week.

I don't think we have seen the best from them yet .... how good that is, or if it is good enough, time will tell.

I'd take Hoppa back at the right price - but agree after his previous inflated contracts its doubtful he'd take the sort of paycut his recent form deserves.

He's still a pretty good player, just not the superstar he once looked like.

As for his no Sundays stuff, deduct it pro rata from his wages and let him go for his life.

He was a superstar, sky the limit player. Who left manly after a premiership, then left league, now works part time, and is half the player he was at 19.

He doesn't follow the Bible as such. After all, they aren't Christians. He follows about 80-90 percent of the Old Testament, which is dressed up as the Book of Mormon. Basically a re-jigged exercise in justifying the procurement of multiple wives.

Not to be confused with the Book of Norman - which is an exercise in justifying hanging out with bikies, popping pills and being filmed while engaged in lewd acts.

Why, just because he's a religious nut?? It's a team, and as far as I'm concerned you're in or out so if he wants that the answer's got to be no.

I remember when he said he was taking 2 years off they asked Brent Kite (also a mormon among many in the comp) about it and he said "I told him there's other ways to honor the lord" and he could honor the lord through football.

I think Scott might take offence at the build comment ;-) Scott has muscle, Jake has...well... let's just say he has undeveloped muscle.

I've changed my mind on Hoppa on the proviso that he play sundays and comes cheap at around 200k, although I can't see that happening. Cover for our backline.

There's talk the dogs are telling W Hopoate that he won't be required next season, so whats your thoughts on bringing him back home and slotting him in the centres ? . Kelly is going ok but i think hoppa and walker would be a very good pairing.

No no no no

Too slow, can't break a tackle and he has lost that edge.
