Apparently Henjak was given a ridiculous ultimatum at the start of the year where he had a month to prove himself. As in, if you're struggling after four rounds, then start packing your bags because you won't last another month.
He beat that and had the Broncos in a strong position before Origin. They've fallen apart a bit since then - but plenty of Broncos sides have done similar things in recent years. Remember the slump which was not a slump in '06 when they won the comp?
He won't stand down. He's far too competitive. And the only thing that would stop him from coaching the Broncos next year would be if they missed the finals, and Locky did his knee and put his hand up to coach.
