Will Hopoate

Not a speedster but quick between the ears, classy and very strong...would be happy to see him back - has creativity and in a team doing it tough like us, has done well against the best of teams...I like it.
Yeah quality - was one of the best centres in the comp before he parted ways with us imo - and not a selfish player either. Good team man who creates lots of opportunities for those around him with his silky passing.

Ok - Here is another option to go with Hoppa - Gutherson....gives 100% every game and makes things happen simply off extra effort plays and is versatile and kicks goals??
Injuries are of concern but could manufacture a complete backline with the addition of these 2 and inject some of the Manly back into the team.

The dislike was for the thought not the poster

That's the thing, we inject 2 manly players back while we can and we can have a much easier fix.

1. Tom Trbojevic
2. Jorge Taufua
3. Clinton Gutherson
4. Brian Kelly
5. William Hopoate
6. Dylan Walker
7. Daly Cherry-Evans

That's an awesome backline, don't think it'd ever happen though. Tom Trbojevic and DCE need their contracts renegotiated and lessened.

Looks good. I'd have gutho at fb and turbo in the centers but. Wouldn't mind hiku back either, maybe in place of Kelly. Very unrealistic we could afford hoppa n gutho anyways

Hoppa's solid but I don't see where he fits into our team - he won't push Turbo out of the 1 and he's too slow for the wing. Maybe centre if we stick with Walker at 6 would be the only viable spot IMO. You don't spend his sort of coin as a depth signing.

will Hopper left Manly for more money so no doubt would only consider returning for decent coin also and even taking into account his improved form this season , don't think that he would really be worth it . In any case i think that the Dogs have already released the players that they have preferred to . Same probably applies to Gutho . Hope that young Albert Hoppa if he makes i st grade with Manly in approaching seasons and is paid some appropriate money may be able to show a bit more loyalty and commitment to Manly then will did in 2011 .[ But maybe or probably wish fill thinking ]

Al, I don't believe Will left for more money ..... I am certain he would have happily reained at Manly ... if you recall the circumstances .... Parra made a big play for all four of Will and his brother, and Darcy and his brother.

I believe the big play was from the perennial dummy spitter, ole man Lussick .....

The "sweetner" in the deal for the 4 of them was a job on the coaching staff for Will's dad John .... it would have been almost impossible for a "dutiful" son to say no ....

Tyrone Roberts. Massively underrated player that can play 1, 6,7,9 very well. Great utility or can hold down a fulltime spot easily. Handy goal kicker as well. He's a genuine tough, old school footballer with off the cuff attacking flair...and a hell of a nice bloke. He'd be a great pick up! Still got a few years in him at only 27.

Daly and Tom are on small contracts compared to what players of their calibre will be demanding in the coming seasons. I wouldn't be touching their contracts.

was fairly well aware of the overall 'package " circumstances but pretty sure that will's reported contract for the Eels switch at the time was in the vicinity of 700 k . An amount that Manly could not properly justify to match and were certainly not willing too .

Only way that could ever remotely happen is if they get shopped. Roberts over Elgey for me.

Probably not but wasn't Fainu a half before a hooker? Truth be told though I would rather Walker stay at 5/8 and find replacements for Suli and Parker if we are tight for money
