Will Croker be back?

Surely Crokes' latest concussion has to be a real worry after last year's seriously delayed return from a concussion due to ongoing complications.

If he's not considering hanging up the boots, it might be best for the club to step in. It's something the Roosters have done quite a few times now, even for their favourite sons.

110%

He’s mad to continue it will haunt him later in life , and not worth the issues for a few more dollars

His injury concerns and his form do send cause for concern
Considering his style of play , lacks self preservation and his game is built on grunt, but is pretty small for the defensive forward style he plays.
More head knocks seem very possible

You are right the rooster do this stuff better . The roosters goal is to build a legacy foundation business that will thrive into the future, ensuring the club forever. They will be huge in 20 years , probably buy us for a feeder team

We are run differently and its sad . You can see right through this cheap arse organisation. BUT why, whats the end game

I really struggle with the idea of getting behind the club financially when its success is measured on a personal metric , that isn't clear to its members

Is he selling
Does it align with other interests
Is it his play toy
Will he leave it to his kids
There needs to be some vision to fans. The NRL finances the game now
Consolidated revenue is probably no longer good enough in this model
Is the club building other revenue streams or is it a (cough cough ) surplus

This isnt survival mode anymore

No disrespect to mestrov but i would imagine his skills would be very handy in HQ and he is probably the lowest paid CEO in the game so far easier to poach

He has proven to be a bridge between penn and the club on the surface which seems to be a major hurdle

So you're hoping that Penn is medically retired following his latest concussion?

Roosters seemed supportive of Cordner and Keary - but Radley keeps being sent out there to get knocked out again and again.
When you see such tough blokes (also Jake nowadays) getting KO'd it shows what a scarily violent game NRL is.

With all this head knock stuff that the NRL have "cracked down on", they really don't seem to be that proactive in the area of when is enough enough. Sure they have the 7 day sit out, which is a good thing, but nothing seems to happen when it occurs over and over again. Maybe they need to step in and not leave it to the clubs.

You're right, the protocol for each HIA including the 11 day stand down is all very good but there's no procedure in place for several repeat ones. Yes the NRL should be stepping in if the clubs overlook duty of care for such players.

As for Croker, I think if he's become so vulnerable that he gets a head knock at training, then surely it's time to give it away for the good of his future.

These decisions should be made by the medical staff and not the players.
The decision should be made by our Mediocre performing coach who has had him as his starting priority

Croker is a Des Hasler makeshift primitive hooker experiment that is well and truly out dated and superseded in the modern game by the more dynamic and creative number 9s

Yes, the notion that the Goosters are on the front foot when it comes to concussion issues, is rubbish that should be knocked on the head (pun intended). Cordner and Friend both played on longer than they should have.

They (the Goosters) even made fun of Radley’s repeated headknocks on a recent t-shirt, with the Rad Man himself grinning away:

I think you'll find the post was concern about his welfare. You know, human stuff.

But go ahead, blather on

Thank you for your posts
I wish all the human beings well
I was referring to our mediocre underperforming head coach for his decision to keep persisting with the one dimensional pedestrian Croker as our number one starting Hooker
This is nothing personal to Croker as admirably he tries his best but his best is not good enough against the superior number 9s
I am only stating the obvious and as a Manly fan I obviously want Manly to be more grand final winning competitive

The fact our best middles are broken at the moment, and the fact that we haven't has an enforcer since AFB left 5 years ago. Anyone who has played hooker this year in a half that we have dominated could probably hold their head up. All our forwards are up against it at the moment.

We only have 2 Middles broken unfit to play Paseka and Aloia
Our best Middle who will be missed is Paseka
Aloia has not been one of our middle best
We still have plenty of Seibolds 3 year rebuild regulars NRL middles fit to play
Taukeiaho
Jurbo
Tevaga
Bullemore
Brown
Our playing squad is who they are by the recruiting choices we have made
Adversity is part of life and spares no one
We are who we are by the way we handle adversity
