Can anyone let me know why Bob Fulton left Manly for the Roosters back in the day?

Well, the story I read, was that Kerry Packer (big Easts supporter at the time) made him a huge offer, when Bozo told Arko, Arko said take it as Manly couldn’t match it.

Hence, he went to the chooks.

It may or may not be true but I’ve read it several times.

I vaguely remember it happening off season, maybe even in the school / christmas holidays. My mates and i were all depressed, shocked, angry and felt betrayed by a cruel world. How could he do this to us?. Bozo ARE YOU MAD? It was Judith Durham leaving the Seekers all over again.

Which no-one who ever watched that guy play footy, or who ever enjoyed the fruits of his labours for Manly as player and coach, would ever begrudge.
