Who will be our goal kicker next season?

Goal kicking is 90% in the head... That's why I have little faith in Walker as our kicker.

Further more, that's also why I was a rubbish kicker as a kid!

Wright is our best goal kicker, too bad he is slow and has no footwork. I'd go Walker as kicker, not that good but above average compared to our others. And I hear T Wright is a good kicker? I know he hasn't exactly won a spot yet but I think he should get a shot at the wing. Very fast and great step.

Surely a good goal kicker is worth at least a try or 4 extra points a game if not more.

However if you can't tackle or there are better options alla Kerrod holland Bulldogs then you don't get picked.

Would love to have Maloney in the halves...

Maybe one day we can have a specialist kicker.

It appears the days of the dead eye dick 80-90% goal kicker who was hidden on the wing may be over. But gee, with the comp being so close these days and particularly if Ure team is struggling a bit as we are atm I'd take a winger that kicks 4+ goals a game from anywhere as long as defensively he's sound. Desperate times call for desperate measures lol

That's true, however you can't compromise the team just to have a great kicker, in the past we did that with Ben Walker and Michael Witt, fabulous kickers but $hithouse otherwise

Ben Walker scored 18 tries in a season so wasn't too **** even though his defence was poor. To put that in perspective I believe it may have equalled the record for a 5/8. In 50 years, the Sharks top try scorer in a season sits on 19!

DCE used to kick (not well) in NYC. I think his percentage was very low 70 something. He's getting the massive dollars - put the pressure on him.

For those doubting the value of a good goal kicker, cast your mind back a few weeks to the Grand Final.
It was won by a goal kick.
It is imperative to have a good goal kicker, even if he is not quite as good a player as an alternative.

Going by Walker's and Baz's comments after the trial game last night, it seems our goalkicker is being considered between Walker, Api and DCE. With Walker kicking 3/4, it seems he's the most likely and probably the most logical choice.

Interestingly, no mention was made of (M) Wright being in contention, although that could be only because he's currently injured.
