Who will be 5/8 for Round 10

Poor old (young) Jackson is on a hiding to nothing if/when he gets his chance at 6. We can't expect 1 man to change our season around!

Baz said on NRL.com its looking like he is ok.

But should he be out, you have to pick Tom Wright (as madmax said). The season is essentially a write off, so why not blood him now, give him a year outside DCE to build a combo. Espically if our cap is tight, we may not have room for a expensive half.

Its clear Hastings isnt going to get a gig.
Penrith were 2 and 7 last year and knocked us out. I still have hope we can do something. But if we lose to the ponies this Saturday I think all hope for me is gone

The reality is that unless Barrett actually bites the bullet, sucks it up and selects Hastings at 5/8.....we are going to have to put up with playing 1 half and 3 centres. Because the only other 5/8's we have are centres who are running players just like our halfback, or Api and that is an even bigger disaster waiting to happen.

Roll on 2019 because you can put a fork in Manly's 2018. We're done......

So if Barrett persists with Walker, or if he is injured, someone other than Hastings AND Manly lose the next two weeks - how will Barrett talk his way out of seven losses in a row?.

Or do we need to wait until 8 or 9?

I’m sitting here with my finger on the eject button.

The reality is that there is only 2 ways that Jackson Hastings will get a run in our first grade halves, or even in first grade at all at Manly.

1 - If he is one of only 17 fit players actually available.
2 - If DCE gets injured and can't play meaning we actually need a halfback. And even then I could see Barrett going with Api.....

And if either of those actually happen before either 30 June or the end of the season, I'll be surprised.

Whether people agree with Hastings being banished or not, what it means is that our best available half outside of DCE won't get picked and it will continue to hamper our chances more than it helps.

Spot on Mark.

I thought the NRL were outlawing cannonball tackles but no penalty so not on report but I forgot it's the Rorters so I shouldn't be surprised.

Don't get me started on the forward passes or the no knock on which would have had Walker under the posts.

Perenara must be a nightmare to play under the only thing he's good at is being inconsistent.

Barrett should of blown up big time in his press conference and cop the 10 grand fine. Should of given it to the refs to put them on notice. We'll cop the same crap calls again this week. Couldn't imagine Hasler or Toovey copping that crap and say nothing.

What are you looking forward to 2019 for? Unfortunately, next year wont be much better and I can only see more of the same..... new

Dean Pay got a $25k fine. Unbloodybelievable. Dictatorship that is the NRL.

The NRL must be embarrassed that Illawarra still don't have any injuries to its top 17, resorting to listing three blokes who play second grade or lower. When you see the list of injuries to Manly and several other clubs Illawarra is blessed - at the moment.

That is a lot of injured players out! I didn't realise how many (across all clubs).

Seems to make the case for the nrl to consider player's welfare instead of sticking to their arbitrary rules about player promotions.

Dylan Walker has today been cleared of any damage to his left knee following yesterday's match against the Sydney Roosters.

Sustained in the 71st minute, Walker rose from a heavy tackle clutching his left knee after hyper-extending it however is set to be named in Trent Barrett's 21-man squad to take on the Brisbane Broncos in this Saturday's Brisbane NRL Double Header.

(probably been posted, sorry)

We need a kicking option on either side of ruck. Hastings can fulfil one side, play him Barrett. Ha ha, as if

we would never get the ball with Hastings on one side as he opposition will just run at his side and he will be all alone score every set

Bullfrogs seem to be going well with injuries - as is reflected by their ladder position.

Totally contradicts what we've all been told since schooldays: "Tell the truth and you won't be punished".
Which unfortunately is not true, in fact people have been punished for telling the truth since the dawn of recorded history (and probably longer).
