Hi Guys, I promised someone I'd send them a copy of the 9's tourny I recorded on Foxtel with manly's games. I can't for the life of me remember who?

Secondly, how the HECK do you record from Fox IQ to USB or something? They've made it really difficult.

Also happy to send games and things if someone can let me know how?

They can watch the footage of the 9's on livestream if they are still interested, they still had the videos archived last time i was there. It is also good for watching replays of any games if you miss them live.

Hey Ryan, look up copying to external PVR on the net, you can get some really cheap units that work really well. You can then rip it to any media form that you require. I have a box (once I find it after moving house) just slightly bigger than a packet of cigarettes that records to USB then I can stick into my computer and rip it to any other form I require 🙂

Foxtel System Settings
Audio/Language
HDMI Digital Output -> MPEG

Then use a composite cable (red,yellow,white) cable to a USB Video converter like Ulead Visual Studio
(as Foxtel have disabled their USB port)

The problem is that the data comes over/is decoded in real time only - so no Copy/Paste

But Ulead has a duration feature so set a game to 1hour 20 and it will convert unattended
(any other USB Video Converter is fine except Cyberlink. They stopped porting from Cyberlink vers 7, so don't bother with them, even though they come preloaded on windows)

Incidentally, the Foxtel IQ does have a USB port, but is superfluous. Doesn't attach to anything at the back. Much like our forwards at the moment, come to think of it.

If you click on the ebay link you will see the cable, it comes with software, just follow the Capture instructions.
Or google USB Video Capture and watch youtubers explain it.

Foxtel encrypts its box that is why you can not just connect a USB cable to it and copy the recorded files.

The only setting to check on IQ2 is the MPEG output (by default its usually something else that I can't recall)

I think IQ3 has wifi connection so that would be simpler to capture on another device
