Can't see Wighton, Mitchell, Walker or Graham being picked at 5/8. Maloney plays left side as does Wighton, Mitchell, Walker. Graham would be better served on the bench as utility. So that does not leave many. Townsend would be a nice pick but I can't see him being thrown in for the decider. And then as much as I don't want to say it that leaves Pearce as the only option. He has won a comp with Maloney so both know each others game. He has also been playing well, very well this year. Time for redemption and that fairytale finish for Pearce.

I am trying to avoid that scenario..

fool me once, shame on me... fool me 18 times, shame on the NSW selectors...

Could it be he who should not be mentioned ?

MP ..........

Nah, stuff Pearce.

Apparently passed up game 2 because they wanted to put him at 6 instead of 7.

Useless prick is a great club half, but is no different to Cleary at rep level.

If he feels he has the credibility to pass up selection because it doesn't suit him, then get stuffed.

Graham will do the job.

Already more try assists in 40 minutes as a 6, than Clearly has in 4 games hahaha

Yeah they are likely to go with Pearce you would think. I do like Townsend who just needs to play a steady game like Cleary; however, as you say, they won't throw him in for a decider. It will be Pearce or Graham.

Qld will target Jimmy from the start. We need a genuine half IMHO

Pearce was let go from the chooks because he could handle big games.

I'd be happy with Townsand

Adam Reynolds has a good kicking game and is a reasonable defender. Bit of a like for like replacement for Cleary that will be happy to keep it simple and solid and let Maloney do his thing. Be bloody hard now for Latrell to come back into the side after that performance. Wighton and Tommy were both very very good so very hard to see Jack relegated.

Anyone but Pearce.

Graham slotted in perfectly last night, why not keep him as Maloney's halves partner for game 3 & bring another utility in on the bench?

He's been injured. Really only pearce or Townsend as options. I wouldn't expect fitler to name Graham at 5.8, sure he did a grear job but we did it pretty easy last night, when the game's on the line you want and need a Specialist half in there to partner maloney. Cook and Tedesco dont really kick so Maloney would be targeted as our only real kicker.
Another option is Wighton to 5.8 and bring back Latrell???

Won’t even be an issue. Graham is an absolute certainty after that performance from the blues. People forget he actually was as a five eight in first grade at Penrith and was a half as a junior and has a decent kicking game. Origin is a different beast and I actually think Graham may have the gig for a while. He is as skilful any five eight down the left , mixes it physically with any opponent which is important in origin and kicks well as his deft kick for Ado Carr showed.

Not knocking Mitch as I rate the new version of Mitch very highly but they would be absolutely crazy to pick Pearce and put him under that pressure. Regardless of how he plays he’ll cop it if they lose. And you don’t need him with Jimmy calling the shots.Too much alike.

Klemmer back in will be only change and Ryan Matterson to take Graham’s place is my bet.

To be fair the game was over after turbo scored early in the 2nd and Graham and Maloney had zero pressure on them playing behind a completely dominant pack. Game 3 will be a different beast entirely, I also felt the amount of penalties blown favored nsw as qld couldn’t get them into an arm wrestle and turn it into a war of attrition which is where they thrive. Not sure the count in the end but it seemed like a lot and a bunch of errors too creating stoppages. Can guarantee game 3 the whistles will b put away. Anyway off on a tangent but I think they need a second kicking option and that won’t be Graham as despite some time at 6 and kicking in juniors, he is not up to grade kicking wise in the nrl let alone an origin decider. Just my opinion.
