I see this as one of the two biggest challenges for the coaching staff next year. The even bigger one being overall pattern of play given that both our halves are "eyes-up opportunity" rather than "plan and structure." And I say that with respect and liking for both.

Tuilagi will start but realistically we only have 1 second rower who looks like he definitely belongs in the starting 2nd row of a proper premiership contending team (and even he still needs some work). The question of second row interchange looks even weaker.

I reckon Burbo will prove very important to us next year. I think he is progressing alright for a young guy, only turned 21 in August this year, I am hoping for some good things from him in 2023. Go you local junior good thing!

Tuilagi left the Tigers for a starting back-row position with us. I can't see anyone else starting in front of him if his trial form is strong. Lawton when fit will walk into the utility role, and I think the others mentioned will only be used at left-edge if Tuilagi is unavailable.

Also fulton in the mix no doubt
Yeah, I think you might be right there. I seem to have a memory of someone from the club mentioning him as an edge forward which to me seemed odd. He might well have the game for it, but from what I’ve seen so far I reckon he’d take a bit more time.
