Who Let The Dogs Out?

Blakey darling ... agree with your main point ..... but when the indiscretions occur in a public venue and on a balcony in full view of the world ..... NOT to report it would be called a cover-up.

Completely agree, but i find it amazing hypocritical that these Journo's get on their high horse about how bad an image this is, yet they are blasting it all over their front page. Instead of a hundred or so people seeing this goose, the newspapers have given 5 million sydneysiders a view of it.

Showing a little too much enthusiasm there Woodsie @;)

The real story is the absolute stupidity of some players, or alternatively the complete disregard and lack of respect some have for themselves, their club. the game and the fans ....

What he did was drunken and dopey and at a closed venue, funny .. ... forgivable and forgettable ..... to do it on a public balcony in the rocks ... numb-nutted to a level of career threatening ...

Agree... but a journo's job .. (and I use that term loosely) ... is not to protect the game ... it is to inform the public ...

Are you referring to the nude or the dick puller?

This is such a nothing story.
The journo's know its mad monday so they follow the clubs around like vultures trying to get anything they can on them.
Then they have the nerve to say things like 'We should be concentrating on the football, not the controversy' Well, here's an idea, stop reporting gutter trash articles and focus on the football, FFS!
Yes it's a disgrace.. boys will be boys. They get one weekend a year to celebrate after a year of intense training, booze bans, fronting up to media, applying themselves to media and community programs as role models for kids. Of course, it's gonna get wild. Players are human beings not robots. Happens every weekend where people get loose. They deserve the chance to do so without the media putting a blight on their image and put a negative spin on an end of season they obviously have put 100 percent into regarding the result.

Over at the Harbord Beach Hotel in Freshwater, a 20-strong group the Manly Sea Eagles also held Mad Monday celebrations in apparent defiance of a directive from coach Trent Barrett to cancel any partying because of the side’s dire performance.

The party kicked off around 3pm as costumed players gathered in the smokers; area at the hotel’s rear.

“The theme was a movie from the year you were born in so there was a guy going as The Mask. another pair as Batman and Robin and a guy dressed up as what looked like Mrs Doubtfire,” said Telegraph photographer David Swift, who witnessed the celebrations.

The “Mad Monday” theme was a movie from the year of your birth.
“An inflatable crocodile made it into the mix somehow. Mrs Doubtfire lit up a cigarette and they all had stubbies in their hand.”

Just after 5pm the players headed into Taronga Zoo Wharf where they boarded a party cruise that lasted well into the evening.

The Sea Eagles finished one win away from the wooden spoon.

Frankie went as Crocodile Dundee, hence the need for an inflatable crocodile :wait:

All that is true ... done it myself .....(not the dick grabbing bit) ..... right up to the point they do it on a balcony in public view in the rocks .... then it becomes bone headed stupid ...

Sorry mate ... if you don't think an NRL player dancing naked and being grabbed on the dick by a team mate on a balcony in the high traffic tourist walk in the rocks in full view is news worthy ...... I do .

Imagine the furore if it had been us!!! ...... go on Silvertails embrace it

Alcohol and stupidity, is like bread and butter. Especially when heavily consumed it's almost guaranteed

Greenburg will ensure a soft landing...
Nothing to see here ..my beloved bulldogs are clean skins. How TG with his previous association with the bulldogs ever got close to the ceo of nrl beggars belief.
If this was us he would come down harder.

I wonder the kind of reaction you would get if you sat at a table in a restaurant next to Danny or Phil and snapped a photo of them every time they put a drink to their lips...

You would need a big memory stick if you were doing this for Buzz.

I would argue that a journos (especially our NRL journos) job these days is to generate clicks. Informing the public is a distant second.

Sensationalism generates a lot of clicks.

Heck, even our political reporters are guilty of it as well.

Disgraceful Journalists Take Photos Of A Bender

It can be confirmed today that some journalists have taken some photos of a group of blokes having a session.

The disgraceful journalists and photographers on the scene, under instruction from their bosses, have captured ‘shocking images’ of a group of footy players getting on the sauce.

Photos emerged in the news organisations papers, peddling outrage over a group of young men who train like elite athletes for the best part of 10 months of the year letting their hair down for the annual Mad Monday celebration.

In an ironic twist, the news organisation so adamant in its defence of ‘Australian Values,’ and so invested in the war against political correctness has tried to grab headlines by snapping pictures of a group of blokes getting pissed.

Despite not committing any crimes, and not committing any of the rugby league atrocities of the game’s storied past, the Bulldogs players are now under fire for behaving relatively well on the piss.

The Editor of the Sydney tabloid Chris Simpson told The Advocate over the phone today that in this day and age you have got to do whatever it takes to sell papers.

“These guys are role models. So when they have a private function out of the public eye in order to enjoy a bit of pissy session, it’s our duty to send our photographers to a barely accessible vantage point to grab images that no kids would have seen unless we published them,” Simpson said.

“It’s our duty,” explained the editor of a paper that penned 8 opinion pieces last week about the ‘Nanny State,’ watching over and policing everyday Australians rights and freedoms.
