First Grader
1. Stewart - has developed this year and could be anything!!
2. Hicks - just scrapes in to this category - slow to start but has come good.
5. Stephenson - had a good start to the season, lost confidence in defence but has finished with heart as a winger. Not our best by a long shot but showed character to come back.
8. Heckenberg. His injury coincided with our form slump. Not flashy but does hard yards.
10. Kite. Underrated by many but look at what happened when he didn't play.
11. Watmough. Great first half of the season, injury cruelled the rest but has the ability to be very, very good.
12. Beaver - if he played for the Roosters he would be an immortal of the game.
13. Ben Kennedy . Rated by Bozo as a Manly legend and he has only played one season.
14. Williamson - heart of our defence and willing to fit in anywhere. Missed when injured!

The jury is out on Alberts. I think he has gone well but has had little opportunity to shine due to our halves. Also question marks remain about Dunley. He gave us great spark at Dummy half but has lacked consistency.

Have I missed anyone???

You could probably throw in Bryant as a guy who has done a good job (overachieved even) but the rest pretty spot on. Others have had their moments but too few of them

You're right about Hicks just scraping in. He's lucky he is in a position that doesn't always have much of an influence on the game. Hopefully a true off season this year gets him back to '04 form.

Glad you included Stephenson, you can't doubt his effort, coming back into first grade out of position and playing better than any specialist wingers we have.

Surprised to see that you have a question mark over Dunley. Behind the obvious names, Kennedy, Stewart, Menzies and Watmough, Dunley for mine is right up the top of the list. He always plays with passion and when he is on the field you get the feeling that he is the one most likley to create an opportunity.
