Which edge is worse?

"I come back to you now at the turn of the tide"
Our left side or our right side? Early in the Riff game I was convinced it was Suli & Saab; as the game wore on it looked like Parker & Garrick wanted the title. Both sides offer no spark in attack, cannot beat their opposites on the inside or outside, and are shambolic in defense.

Opposition coaches must know that their job is easier against Manly each week.

"Just draw their second rowers (if they have one) and centres and pass to the winger".

It's not even so much getting beaten each week, it's how easy we leak points by the minute for the whole game. There is effort, for sure - but effort alone is not rewarded.

Props to the edge of foz, parker and Garrick in defence. While I am quite disgusted in most of our players (including most on both edges), the intent of the left edge to improve their communication and resolve on that edge has been evident.

But just as our left edge defence improves some, our right edge of dce, suli (especially poor) and Saab has begun to flood. Walker's last-ditch defence was also quite horrendous, but the communication between suli and dce continually breaks down in defence. Then, even when they get it right, Suli's defence is all arms and dce was getting bowled over.

Saab was really poor today, I admit. However, there were so many occasions where the breakdown in defence between (mainly) dce and suli lead to him being stranded on the edge alone. He compensated for this a little by rushing in (after Suli got sucked in) to try shut down the play. But after Penrith managed to get it out the winger a few times Saab's decision making had lost all its confidence. That edge needs changes for it's defence, and the left edge needs changes for it's lack of attacking strike.

What a mess. I think Suli should be dropped. Harper simply must make the team this next Tuesday.

The right edge is worse, no signs of improvement. Getting worse if anything.

DCE owns the right side and needs to take accountability of why it’s a turnstile in defence and offers zero in attack.

The left edge is showing signs in attack, moving Walker to center and bringing in Guaca as the edge forward will improve it more.

It leaves the question do you move Foran to the right edge and play Schuster at 6 if Guaca is fit.

Is this a serious conversation.
parker suli Garrick JetSki Croker etc and we are discussing which is the worst side lol
They all are a disgrace
Rearrange the deck chairs ffs

none should EVER play first grade for anyone
Well this is what we are stuck with till the end of the season that’s why they being talked about. We only got backs remaining and we know Dessie won’t put them in. Funa is wasted and he showed last year he can play first grade and can kick goals. But SuperCoach will not drop Garrick.
His hands will be forced to drop Suli as he is injured. By putting Walker there and if he makes our right side click, then it will be very touch for Suli to get back in.

whilst Parker’s defence is ok, he has been the biggest culprit in dropping the balls and giving opposition the ball.

flanagan made a very good point - Walker looks lost in attack and is over the show in attacking play. Walker is not Latrell so stick him at centre.

momentum in the current rules is the key and we start the game on the back foot by giving teams easy ball by the less than 50% completion rate in the first 30 minutes. Des doesn’t coach to drop balls - it is the players responsibility. Dessies biggest mistake right now is bot dropping players. Look at Bennet who dropped Mansour after 1 bad game.

Both are disjointed at the moment. Parker use to be able to tackle, not only does he look like he is running on the spot he is so slow, often just gets brushed away. Suli just takes the wrong man too often and DCE does not use his body anymore. Too much arm grabbing and one out defending. Best sides always have two blokes in a tackle and work with each other

put walker on one edge and tafua on the other to at least improve the defence. Funa to fullback. I have this funny suspicion tom wont be back so soon.

I have this funny suspicion tom wont be back so soon. saab has to go. he is in dreamworld everytime the opposition attacks his side. worst defender I have ever seen. tonite he kept going in and left a yawning gap. walker comes over but dylan is a midget and just get steamrolled by the attacker with momentum.

Let's not forget Walker, his defence and positioning is no better than Saab, Suli or Garricks.

The last centre who played for Manly that I can recall beating their opposite with a step and speed was Harper last year - what does that say?
