What's worth streaming on TV.

So let's see....

1) The completely made up adventures of Dick Turpin (Prime)

Stars Noel Fielding.

Dick Turpin is a legendary British motorway robber, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair. Together with his gang of rogues, he sets out on new adventures, all while trying to escape the clutches of a thief-taker.

RT 84%

1 season only. I like Noel, which helps with the series.
funny enough, quirky enough, great hair enough to have kept me entertained over the one season.

2) Lioness (Netflix)
Rating: 75 to 80%

A spy thriller that follows the leader of undercover CIA operations on the war on terror by enlisting female operatives that are known as Lionesses.

Lots of action. I liked it.

3) Roadhouse 2024 (Prime)
Rating 60% - Awww that's kinda harsh.

Need something to fill your head with over the top silliness for 2 hours - give this a whirl.
Obviously a similar plotline to the original but with a lot more swearing and over the top shenanigans thanks to Connor McGregor.

Now I probably wont watch it again, but glad I watched it once.

go Manly!

Don't know if it's been mentioned on here previously; SAS: Rogue Heroes is really good. The second series (I refuse to call things season unless it's the time of year!) is just finishing over here on BBC. I know the first series was on in Aus because it was the wife's uncle who lives in SA who told us about it and he's gutted we've watched the second series before him!!

I'll post more later (lucky you guys) but I started watching Rogue Heroes yesterday and it's very....very good!

GET INTO IT.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, it'll change your life. - quote borrowed from 'Black Books' - a funny comedy.

And repeat after me: "We'll never question @Uk eagle 's suggestions again."

Just finished watching The Åre Murders (Swedish) on Netflix. 5 part series.
Also recently watched La Palma on Netflix. Thought both were good.
Appreciate the tips above. Have a bit of flying ahead of me this month and looking to download something to kill time.
I know that FUBAR season 2 is available from 12th June.

Billy The Kid, currently showing on Stan. Good handling of the story and characters. Fantastically shot, wardrobed and with their locations. I believe at least some of the production team might have been with the Vikings team, and it shows.

That's good to know. I thought it'd been cancelled as there were just no new episodes 'over here' for ages.

I've watched The Åre Murders and La Palma (no surprise) but I'm a tad surprised that RT has La Palma at 100%. It was good...but not 100% good (I thought).
I've yet to pull the trigger on fubar...I don't know why.

Rogue Heroes.

They can not leave it at just 2 seasons. Or I'll get them!

It's a really good series. I thought it may be just episode after episode of blokes doing alpha male tough things, but it isn't.

I also get twitchy if modern music is set to older film eras. Like Ac/dc set in roman times (eg) but they do this and it fits. I also get the same twitch when stories around Tobruk are portrayed on TV as invariably the Australian effort is minimised. But it's rogue Heroes, not the Rats of Tobruk.

I did feel like the take the viewers along from the jokey, blokey start full of irreverence of authority, whilst also showing the frustration of English officers only receiving their rank from having the proper title, or connections.

As the series evolves and 'the men' are sent on mission after mission, we're drawn into the realities of war. The jokes become fewer as the body counts rise, in an era where PTSD wasn't a recognised thing.

So plenty of action, couple with plenty of insights along the emotional fighting person's journey.

This is more than I've written of any series, so I'm going to get a coffee.

2:30am here, I'll have black with 2 sugars please.
That'll get me through ☕

Don't worry, there's going to be a third (and final) series
