What's worth streaming on TV.

I just read that Somebody somewhere (probably best descibed as a dramedy) has 100% on rotten tomatoes and is in it's third season. so two things about that show I didn't know!

I'll probably watch DotJ but at the moment I'm kinda against series that take 8 x 1 hr episodes to tell something that we used to watch movie in 120mins.

Not saying this is the case here... I'm just wary of it, as it happens too much imo.

I'm in a weird phase where sitting down to watch 2 hours of a movie is just too much for my ADD self but 8 hours of a series? Perfect for my procrastinating self!

lol, thank goodness it's not just me.

The amount of times I've looked at a 2hr movie...thought 'nah', then watched 4-6 one hour episodes of something else is ridiculous!

Binged watched 'Black Doves' over the last couple of days.

94% on rotten tomatoes.

Ahead of its premiere on 5 December 2024, it was renewed for a second season. The series is about a spies-for-hire organization that obtains secrets for the highest bidder.

The series has been met with positive critical reviews, and Knightley received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

So...it's quite good but as I've said previously, I'm grumbling at these 6 episode series that drag out what could be done in a 2 hr movie.

Went and saw the movie A Complete Unknown based on the book Dylan Goes Electric. Timothee Chalamet stars as Dylan and I went along thinking I'd hate the movie based on his crap performance in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory being the only thing I'd seen him in previously...I was wrong he absolutely nails it, great movie if you're a Dylan fan.

On Call

is quite good.

30 mins episodes and things happen. so although there's the usual overlying plot, there's still a chunk of stuff that happens per episode (unlike british dramas)

Although I read some critics aren't overly fussed about it but they like (like me) that the shorter episodes means no fillers.

Started tonight at work on American Primeval on Netflix - not too bad so far!

I do however tend to give shows a better go at work as it's all I've got downloaded on me.

Don't know if it's been mentioned on here previously; SAS: Rogue Heroes is really good. The second series (I refuse to call things season unless it's the time of year!) is just finishing over here on BBC. I know the first series was on in Aus because it was the wife's uncle who lives in SA who told us about it and he's gutted we've watched the second series before him!!
