Should we pull our heads in ?
We have 4 wins this year .. against the teams coming 16th, 15th. 14th and 12th. ... FMD.
And 4 loses against 4 top 8 sides.
Bulldogs have 2 wins .. both against top 8 teams and a 1 point loss to another .
Pss ... we play Tigers this week so we can complete the set of beating all bottom 5 teams .. yippee!
Tom , and finishing in the top 4 last year gave many people unfounded hope about the side. Tom can never be that good again .
All the threads over the summer about premiership windows were beautiful but hopeful. But people love stats and top 4 is a stat many hung there hat on
The scoreboard turnaround against the sharks was built on the ref , and lets face it they all go by the nickname even steven if the first half is a flogging, and some play that was only going to beat the bottom 4 with hit and miss plays that were not earned
Our approach to the dogs game was diabolical and we escaped because we have some class, that other also rans do not and the dogs are better equipped at losing
The souths game showed character that should be on display every week but still reeked of panic in the clutch plays as we are pretty weak mentally as once opposition gets ahead our heads drop like a good friday service
Calling a spade a spade on silvertails comes with its own risks as we all know . Des has signed a fair few younger players up while young on decent contracts to offset the big 4 , soon to be big 3.
But winning close games, ugly games seems to be beyond us unless the team we play self destruct before we do, and IMO our results over many seasons reflect this. But im a hater , when in fact im a lover and can produce stats to reflect it, please dont test that
Not so sure about the tigpies, hastings might have a point to prove and he has been pretty good.
