We keep talking about changing the team ... what about this lot?

I agree with you as to the reasons we spread the ball and I agree that it's a fault of the coaching staff. But it's not working, so let’s try something else. We're flogging a dead horse. I'd like to see our halves play straight and at the line; put someone in between defenders and play for some ruck speed. I'd like to see our forwards encouraged to offload. I'd like to see players turned under instead of always going to the edges. There was an occasion on Friday night in the second half where we'd won the ruck and the markers we skittled and Croker picked it up and threw a pass with width that played into the Titans hands. So, whilst I agree with how/why we got here, I think there are other solutions.
I think everyone agrees on our aging pack, on our halves, particularly Daly, he has very rarely straightened our attack over the years and hardly ever takes the ball to the line, it’s very much a self preservation thing. Brooks shows more heart, in saying that I don’t think either of them are going to be able to carry out your wish, particularly our 7, he needs to be released effective immediately, his killing the joint.

A couple of our forwards would be capable of offloads, given we are stuck with our current lot this year and our game structures are so predictable, it certainly couldn’t hurt. Sipp’s has an offload in him, but clearly has been told to put it away, as most of them probably have. On Sipp’s he was making yards on Friday night and our genius gave him min minutes, he would also have been better served starting Sipp’ against the knights and bringing Bully on for impact the week before.

Re the play your talking about with Froggy, I don’t want to hate on the bloke, but his game awareness, lack of picking up the ball and running kills us, I’m not sure his run the ball in last 2 games, maybe 1 run if memory serves me right, even running our forwards onto the ball and keeping the defensive side tight as opposed to our one off garbage, this is back on the coach, he picks him and continues to be content with him to play that way, he bought Frog straight back in at the expense of continuing with Simpkin and clearly coaches us to play one out with our middles.

I don’t know if you watched the half time vision in the sheds, Jake was laying down the law, sad thing is, while his a great clubman his own game is really struggling, it’s actually pretty hard to cop that from a player who’s own input isn’t great, that wasn’t my point, Simpkin was in the back ground trying to lift the lads, he looked like the only one responding to anything Jake was saying. Now on Simpkin he has offered the side more than Froggy currently is, why does Seibs go straight back to the senior playing group, the kid hasn’t been given a fair go, unlike the undroppable senior group, it a culture killer.

How can he not see, that we play better with Simkin at 9, Jazz at 13, Jazz works hard as that third middle, but isn’t quiet up to playing as a prop, yes he can cover for us, Sipp’s on the other is just a prop, who looks to be in reasonable condition since coming back, but Seibs does Seibs, granted we are struggling with injuries, that’s no excuse, his team selections are dreadful and his locked on players who need a wake up call. I feel for Simpkin if he was given a fair go, not thrown in and out of the side, I think his game at DH could develop and would be our best option, his probably one of the few still invested with the right attitude, which is surprising given how Seibs shows so little faith in him. I honestly have zero faith in our coach, as someone else mentioned in another post, I feel sorry for him, his out of his depth, his body language and perplexed demeanour speaks volumes, we are in a very similar situation to his tenure at the Donkeys and I’m not sure anyone is white anting him here, our captain maybe the exemption. There’s not much hope things will change, I have a feeling Seibs will pick and stick and have the side run out with the same mentality, same game plan and sadly same results.

Need a dummy-half who has a bit of leg speed and can scoot when the opportunity arises. This position has been a significant basic handicap for Many for a number of seasons now. Has to be rectified as a priority in any team rebuild.

So they had a thing in the telegraph today saying that ennis is being brought through the system to eventually take over as head coach after seibold. If that is the case we are going to be screwed for years. As stated above he is responsible for the halves/hookers end of set plays. An area which we are total garbage

Yeah I read that this morning, and first thought was, he is a big part of the problem !
I really hope it isn't what is planned

I agree, he talks the talk, probably similar to what Seibs did, when pushing himself for the job. Ennis is just another mercenary, he’d be better off sticking with fox, where he can talk all the bullsh1t he wants and we can avoid another episode in the coaching saga.

Does anyone believe Ennis even wants to be a head coach? It’s pretty rare for media personalities to give up the privileged lifestyle that comes with broadcasting, to face the pressure cooker of first grade coaching; not to mention the hours that the job demands.

I wouldn’t claim to know, but why not, if there’s a decent dollar to be made, which I would imagine a head coaching gig, would surpass his fox deal, then with fox he sits in the studio getting his hair and makeup done, how boring.
For an ex player getting back out with the lads, enjoying some travel, game day back in the thick of it, I would say yes there’s a distinct possibility, especially for someone with a big ego, it’s not for everyone, but personally I think it would be great, hours, pressure and all, maybe he thinks like me, maybe not. I don’t think he’d be the answer in any case, so let’s hope not.

I still think the major problem is the Penn ownership, but of the non playing personnel, I'd probably start with Seibold, then Dymock, then Peter Gentle, then Andrew May

Wow, that is a long list, Much more people there than I thought. Very informative. I assume most of them are part time. I wonder how that structure compares with the leading clubs? Regardless, at the moment they are doing a shxt house job.

Can you believe Trent Barrett still holds a coaching role Bozo, after derailing the Sea Eagles, the getting his first spoon at the Dogs the Donkeys somehow think he is employable, it seems wherever Barrett goes he gifts a poisoned chalice
No I can't. I really can't. The most clueless cxnt to hold a clip board, ever. The lost look on his face during the inevitable post match loss press conference said it all...... 31% winning record and only 15% record at the Bulldogs (he won 5 games at the bulldogs).

Its actually frightening that we look our best with Simpkin at 9 and Jazz at 13 - because both of those guys are basically fringe to middling first graders.

Imagine if we had even the 8th or 9th best NRL players at those positions.

I think he keeps getting assistant jobs because the head coach knows he is no threat to his job.

Is this a time to blood Joey Walsh at half with DCE at 5/8 as mentor maybe for 20 minutes per game so that he can learn (only the good things) from DCE while we still have him?
Would be nice to benefit from DCE if we could.
We don't want Walsh picking up any habits from DCE thanks. He'll be giving him property investment advice and how to screw as much money from Manly as possible.

Both those guys may well be fringe players, but they at least dig in and have a go, just watching the dogs at the moments, they are all workers, those 2 could slot into the dogs side and the show would go on.

Imagine if we just had a side full of workers……

I wasn't having a shot at those two guys - i was making the point that we look our best with an actual hooker and a mobile lock. And if at some stage we can upgrade those positions it will look even better.

Michael Ennis Attack Consultant halves & hookers. There is the first redundancy.
Well our attack is not the issue!!! Our 9 Simpkin is fine yet keeps getting dropped for Croker. Our 6 plays well enough, however our 7 is a problem! We have a positive for & against. Our forwards are the problem which comes down to Dymock not Ennis!

So our halves and hooker(s) are guns hey... How many hookers do we need in one game. Did Ennis have 2 other hookers play with him?

How is dymock even involved the guy was a no name.Played origin in 1996 as an interchange & that’s it & now he’s the defensive coach. Our beaver was a good defender try the beaves.
