I still think the major problem is the Penn ownership, but of the non playing personnel, I'd probably start with Seibold, then Dymock, then Peter Gentle, then Andrew May

I think a lot of the defensive issues stem from our attacking mindset. I noticed we started OK the other night but after Garrick’s soft try, we kept throwing the ball around like it was a game of touch football and I think it impacts on the side’s willingness to engage physically in the battle. Then when the Titans got the ball, there was a distinct lack of energy in the defensive line.

I’d like us to stop shifting the ball to the edges all the time. I think we are the most sideways team in the NRL.

I swear we could get better results by scrapping the lot and bringing in Toovey as “harden the **** up coordinator”, Don Singe as “lose and see me at 4am Monday coordinator” and Terry Randall as “this is what real defense looks like coordinator”. Anyone that doesn’t like it can see Anthony Watmough (“NSW Cup coach and ****house performance mindset correction”).

My mate and me did our post mortem on the game yesterday and we agree with you they throw ball around too much as you say like touch football, just go back to the basics

Many contributors here frequently bag the Penn ownership. But realistically that is a HUGE back room staff and must cost a fortune. So, without doubt the owners are committing to a significant financial investment to the running of the club. But of course the playing recruitment processes are a different matter.

And We need Great People that are capable of making those Great changes

Geez, if only that tight ar$e Penn would hire some support…………oh wait…………..

Passionate Manly People are in Pain watching our once Great Manly club Perish
Passionate Manly will not Persist with Manly Mediocrity
Passionate Manly people will always be loyal to the our Legendary club but we will never be loyal to the mediocre losers that bring it down to their mediocre level
The Legendary Manly club does not deserve to have losers representing it

He does get support
He gets plenty of support from the NRL's Pocket$$$$$
What he does not get support from is
Passionate Manly supporters that hate Manly Losing

Agree - we have no hard edge or mentality, which is largely a function of basing our play around DCE and Turbo. We simply have no appetite to get in the grind and earn the right to play the “Manly Way”.

It is a Mentality thing and it is obvious that we a Mentor that is capable of getting into the players Minds and Inspiring a mindset growth that prevails over adversities

The defence presents the bulldogs staff (which does not include physios etc)

They have what 4/5 just for recruitment?

Agree 100%. Our attack is becoming very predictable and I think most teams have worked us out. We're either 1 out or shift to the edges. There's no variety, no change in direction, hardly any offloads to keep the opposition guessing. Have become too stale with many of our plays. Defence is the other issue but we've been talking about that all season. There's a strong chance we don't make the 8 if this rubbish continues.

Is Jim Dymock the defense coach? As much as i will always love him as a career player his defensive strategy needs an overhaul
Dymock is part of the equation
The Head coach Seibold overseas all parts of coaching performance and is accountable for his choice of assistant coaches and the teams results

Seibold was the Defensive coach under Barrett
Quote from Manly media 2015
Barrett said Seibold will play a vital role in the team’s defensive structure.
“Anthony is doing the defence. I was very selective in choosing who I wanted to be my assistants and one thing I wanted was for someone to come out of a system that was very strong defensively,’’ Barrett said.
