Walker shows our problem

Walker came on and instantly made impact with his speed through the middle
Lawton also added thrust besides a costly poor turnover at a vital time...still injected thrust
Yes it was wet and not ideal for players to make steamrolling runs, but we looked very pedestrian (again) through the middle in attack.
Definitely need more mix of mobility in the ruck, which Shoe will add....and just maybe if our big boppers decide to run full speed and trample the opposition, even if just winning a quick play ball, maybe makes the difference

Totally agree re Walker. Cannot agree re Lawton - he gets rag dolled too often. Victor Radley, he is not.

The other forwards need to man up and be more up tempo.
True Lawton is not a powerhouse, but still his speed is very apparent among plodders....also feel this 1 out is a red flag at a Bull....watck Storm or Penrith, always players pushing up on the footy taking pressure off the ball runner

My thoughts also maxta, Walker's a handful for any opposition to handle, Lawton showed why we really need him on the bench or at 9. Peseka's our most damaging forward hitting it up. What's your thoughts on Ailoi, does he take Bully's bench spot. Schuster's getting close to playing now, we certainly need his creativity in the middle. With the addition of these two players, it could really change the dynamics of the team in an attacking way.

Bruh we are going to miss Walker. Character aside he's made an almost Joe Galavao transformation from wing at the Warriors to a premiership prop with the Riff. He's also a dead ringer for him now days haha.

I hope 2022 is his and our year, it will validate the teams and past few years of non footy crap.

Walker looks electric compared to the rest of the middle, needs to play more minutes.

With Schuster coming back and Walker’s form demanding more minutes where does Jake fit in, he tackles and passes but his impact on a game is not happening, his game now is like Dallas Johnson.

We need a proper hooker, simple as that. Three years of it not being addressed appropriately is unsatisfactory as a professional sporting org.
Thats also OUR thing though unfortunately.
How many years did we have no real 5/8 after Green fled ?

Our props and even big O really leave a lot to be desired in taking the ball into the line at pace... Marty does but as I said he is now more worried about a quick play the ball than bending the line but the others besides maybe Davey and Bullemor wait to get the ball and then start running. They need to take a good look at Geoff Robinson's style - he wasn't a man mountain but he hit the line every time at pace. Now there are not any Geoff Robinson's amongst our lot but it is pretty well understood by anyone with half a brain that if a force is going one way at a greater pace than a force coming the other way and the forces weigh the same or similar that the force moving the quickest will move forward further. There is simply no way we can keep ambling up to the defence and expect to make yards. Now maybe the dummy half play being ordinary is partially to blame but get back off the the long run and smash the ball in you morons! A lack of self preservation and some real ticker is required. Sadly when it comes to carting the ball up... Marty now just hits the line and wants to find the ground, Keppie is a zero in attack and then always makes a dumb play, Big O always always takes the ball flat footed... always yet makes some yards but not nearly as many as he should, Paseka has all the running power and ability in the world yet he is always going to do something but never delivers... like the girls in the nightclubs in the 80's... all show and promise but never deliver lol. Then add in a halfback who was plain terrible, a Centre who was worse, a winger and even Turbo lacking confidence under the high ball, add in Lawton's obligatory at least one mistake per game, Croker doing absolutely nothing when we have the ball except delivering bad service.........and players not holding on to the pill in wet weather.... seriously who offloads or tries to in wet weather??????????... arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Turbo tried really hard but his confidence is down, Garrick, Parker, Foran.... he was fabulous, Davey, sort of Bullemor late, Walker, Big O.......... except he wont run hard... can hold their heads up. The rest you wouldn't give a cup of cold water. Des needs to make some changes... Koula, Tippytoes, Tuitavake and maybe even Roumanos need to start being considered. Aloiai is back and maybe light a fire under Sipley - he can bring it in off the long run but his first game was sooo underwhelming and his defensive workload and lateral effort is woeful. Double arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

With Walker coming on after 20mins and Jake moving to prop it means for the last 60 mins we only have one true prop on the field. Roll shared by Marty, Keppie and Paseka. Despite Jake's great defence I think we need to give him a rest for 20 so we can have two big hoppers taking the hit ups more often. Unfortunately we seem to have gone back to 2020 where Jake takes the hit up on the 4th tackle and steps back inside and makes no impact.

Marty's shuffle at the line and hesitation is killing us. He gets the ball flat footed, saunters a few meters and then just tries to push forward with his upper body at contact. No leg drive, no determination, no speed and slow play the balls. His technique is poor unless your goal is to get offloads, which he seems to have put away anyway. Defensively he adds little as well.

Hard to disagree with your assessment on Marty, doesn't strike fear into opp forwards like he used to do. Alioi back next round, could be Bullymore and Marty fighting it out for the last bench spot.

As far as giving Jake a rest for 20min, only if we are well in front. Jake is the keeper of the ruck area, he's to important of a player to have missing for 20min.

Not sure how he ran 125m unless they count cross field running

Hopefully Aloai brings some starch to the middle.

We are missing the Shoe.

He will take at least 5 games to make an impact. He is one of those players that add to the team with his high energy and willingness. Unfortunately he isn’t gifted with a mountain of size and strength. So once he gets some match fitness under his belt he will start to make an impact.

not an excuse but a fact, we are still yet to play on a dry track. Wet Weather football impacts what your players are actually capable of.
