Interesting isn't it. We go on about contracts, amounts, over paid, under paid etc etc and sometimes forget that most players have a wife, kids and family that determines what and where they go.

There was a thread in here about DCE taking a pay cut which while very admirable isn't going to happen. His wife would look at any notion of taking such a cut as tantamount to taking food from her kids mouths. Dce will be pretty comfortable on his contract but those 3 kids will split whatever's left many years down the line so I'm sure his misses would go Hell yeah Daly, Let's give up half a million over the next 4 years....

My misses wouldn't and I doubt any of your other halves would regardless of how noble you are.

I think he'll probably retire, auction his boots or something and make a profit somewhere in the ballpark of $800,000. Or perhaps he'll be offered a job with Qld tourism or rugby league ambassador to ancient Persia on a wage of say $800,000.

If I was about to negotiate a payout with an employer who was very very keen to get rid of me .... I would be telling the world I was happy to see out my contract ... her comments will just make the Broncos more "creative" about coming to a solution .. especially with Fifita sitting at the back of the room still un-signed ......

Fifita is still contracted for next year ... so Roosters can't "talk" to him until Nov 1st .... so they have some time to come to some accomodation with Boyd if they can ...
