Wade Graham

Can someone please explain to me WTF is so special about this guy? Seems he's a shoe-in for SOO 2nd Row & was even mentioned as Captain, yet for the life of me I cannot see what is so good about him! As a back row forward there are any number of players better than he is but somehow he's rated one of the best. How is he better than Jackson, Frizell, Cordner, Merrin, Jake T, Scott etc. I'm totally at a loss......maybe I'm just mad (lolol). For a start he's a cheat & a grub........If he's the best NSW have got then heaven help us this year!

Graham is a good back rower who has very good hands- better than the others? Out of the ones mentioned above, Merrin has failed at SOO level every time (granted at prop a lot) and Scott is now past it but they are the only ones. Would have Jake, Cordner, Frizell and Jackson as my 4 back rowers/lock, Graham as 5th if you want to run that way (2 on the bench).

Hey Turbo......in what way? I just don't see it!
He's for sure not in the class of Turbo or Cordner but he has been a very consistent player for a long time. He's a bit like Fensom, some really rate him and some just don't see the fuss. Graham would be a good fit for our team, he runs great lines and holes, can kick and ball play. Just what DCE needs on his outside shoulder.

I think they're hoping Siro can fill this need anyway so give him some time with the pack at full strength to see what he can do. Might be a better use of capital.

Though not a spectacular player, Graham is a Solid and tough player who digs in consistently every game
Not sure he should be SOO captain, more an old school back rower from the 80's, with skills and ruggedness that players in his team can rely on every week.

Dunno...

Graham had to go off for a concussion test after being hit in the head with the footy.

He can't be all that tough.

Though the fact it was about the time forwards get a rest in the game and it turned into a free interchange and he was back on 15 mins later should not in any way be interpreted as yet another coach rorting the concussion system. No way not ever ever ever.

Plus it's the do no wrong sharks so move along...

Just don't pat him on the head.

I think its the balance he brings to a team. There are better runners, more robust players, or better metre eaters.
But he has a smart kick, a good pass, can play footy and doesnt shirk the hard yakka stuff also. He runs hard on the edges and is willing in defence. Team balance is something NSW has got wrong on plenty of occasions. You have to pick a team

And he is a competitor

I agree. Graham isn't totally outstanding in any 1 way but is very good in a lot of areas, especially in his passing game. His point of difference to me is he's a much better natural footballer than most backrowers who are just athletes who run through walls.

NSW often pick power over skill and its in selection and coaching that we get lapped every year....it's not just Thurston and Cronk. We contribute to our own demise.
