When you watch a game and you team is playing, all you ask is the commentary be fair to both team, Voss cannot help himself when it comes to Manly and it makes it an unpleasant experience. I mute him now as I know listening to him will just irritate me. I dont care that he hates us, he is a Vermin fan, says it all. Just be professional and call the game neutrally rather that from the perspective of one team!
A great feature would be to mute commentary but still be able to hear the fans at the game. It's good to hear the crowd cheer/jeer etc.
I do agree for sure, but ive just accepted bias

When Rex Mossop commentated our games he was happy for us to win, our biggest critic when things went wrong and called games fairly whether we were involved or not.
Ray Warren loved the whingers so much, heck he was once their ground announcer. He was rather unbearable during their one big era, we were one of their biggest rivals and I can see he was fair to us when he called our games.
Voss is a total muppet!

One great thing about going to the game in person is that I don't have to listen to television commentary. Granted, you have to put up with ground announcers - but at least it's not constant.
Watching some of Eric's old YouTube videos that he posts (thanks again, Eric!), I am surprised at how good old Rex's commentary actually was. Much lampooned, but in reality he called it well. Ditto for Frank Hyde. We've lost the art of calling the game using plain language. Modern commentary in Rugby League, Cricket and Motor sport all seem to use superlatives and jargon.

More outstanding work from Vossy. Clearly lands on his head, doesn’t move, gets up and has to have the trainer balance his head. Vossy says Cleary lands on his shoulder and just has a gash on his forehead. It’s obvious to everyone except the main caller that it’s a category one…announcement comes through that it’s a category one and Vossy is completely shocked. Idiot!

Hadley went off him as Vossy correctly said the statue that Hadley helped arrange for Ray Warren wasnt a good likeness. Anyone that has seen the statue agrees. Just another of Hadley's long list of people he wouldnt exchange Christmas cards with.
