Venues in the Brookvale area (pre-game) … for Food, Drink, Pub options, etc.

As we will get a good crowd 19,000+ at Brookie Oval (a.k.a. Lottoland) for this Saturday, I thought maybe a good idea we should have a post on venues around Brookvale (or nearby to Brookie Oval) for Food, Drink, Pub options, etc. Nice to share for the people who are not from the area (or interstate).

Here is a bit of a list (which can add more notes):

Manly Leagues Club
563 Pittwater Rd, Brookvale
http://www.manlyleagues.com.au/
Obviously good to support as the revenue helps propagate Rugby League (supports juniors, etc). Close walk to ground. History walls good to see. Spiritual home of the 'Sea Eagles' since mid-1950’s. Yes not the grand club from yesterday year but we should not abandon & still support.
Food has really improved now including a Dumpling's Bar:http://www.manlyleagues.com.au/eat (on game day may have limited menu).
Join from $5. Members get 10% off food & drinks purchases. Best value venue.

Brookvale Pub
511-513 Pittwater Rd, Brookvale
https://www.brookvalehotel.com.au/
Close to the main entrance. Gets very crowded. Staff in the Manly colours. Good atmosphere. Now doing Sausage Sizzle BBQ in the outdoor beer gardens on game day. Pizza & other options in the Food area.

Then in recent years we now have the Microbreweries with bars & tasting rooms (great to have these in Brookvale now & growing):

Nomad Brewing Co
5 Sydenham Rd, Brookvale
http://www.nomadbrewingco.com.au/at-the-brewery/hours/
Close to the ground. Good outdoor area. Has food trucks on Saturday’s.
NOMAD Brewing bar and tasting room, ‘The Transit Lounge’ is a comfy neighbourhood bar at 5 Sydenham Rd Brookvale a great destination for locals and those visiting the northern beaches looking for a great selection of craft beer. With 11 taps serving a great selection of NOMAD beers on tap. A dumpling bar and pies available. On Saturdays and Sundays we shift gears and have local bands and food trucks all day. Set yourself up inside the brewery or in our “beer garden” for a great day.

7th Day Brewery (new’ish)
unit 14/9 Powells Rd, Brookvale
https://www.7thdaybrewery.com.au/
Food option with Sale Pepe Pizzeria next door & serves Pizza food in brewery.
7th day brewery is a local run brewery & taphouse in the heart of Brookvale.
plus next door Sale Pepe Pizzeria (Brookvale)
44/9 Powells Rd, Brookvalehttps://salepepe.pizza/

4 Pines Truckbar Brookvale
9-13 Winbourne Rd, Brookvale (in an industrial park)
https://4pinesbeer.com.au/our-venue/truckbar-brookvale/
Great set up. Large TV screen for afternoon sports. Food options, Burgers, etc as well. Getting very popular now as a venue.
This iconic 4 Pines venue is where the machinations of brewing meets the experience of drinking. 4 Pines Truck Bar is built inside our main brewery giving the customer the unique experience of drinking our award-winning beer in the very place it is conceived and brewed. The bar is built of and around an old Dodge Truck and showcases 21 taps. With a Food Truck on site serving delicious Burgers, Pulled Pork and spicy Chicken Wings.

Around the corner from 4 Pines
Manly Spirits Co. Distillery Tasting Bar
4a/9-13 Winbourne Rd, Brookvale
https://manlyspirits.com.au/
Experience the Premium range of Australian Gins, Vodkas and Whiskies from Sydney's Northern Beaches first Artisan Distillery.
Producing premium spirits using Australian sustainably sourced native and marine botanicals
.
Food options tasting plates. Cheese plates, etc . Saturday open 12 midday – 10pm

Dad & Dave's Brewing (currently their beer tasting rooms are closed. Looking for a bigger venue)
2/1 Chard Rd, Brookvale
https://www.dadndavesbrewing.com/
Was real good & had food trucks pre-game. Because they’ve expanded their small brewery can’t do the tasting bar anymore. Next season might be corrected.

Mimmos Pizza
642 Pittwater Rd, Brookvale
http://www.mimmos.com.au/
An institution since 1973. Great or the best Pizzas ever. Short walk to the ground.

Warringah Mall - a big food court plus lots of café & restaurants.
https://www.westfield.com.au/warringahmall/dining
10 to 15 mins walk / easy to do plus buses run along Pittwater Rd.

Others
Brookvale Chinese Restaurant (very close to the ground)
1/676 Pittwater Rd, Brookvale
https://www.brookvalechinese.com.au/menu
Informal spot with old-world decor on the 1st floor, serving typical cuisine to eat in or take away.

Takeaways or Sit ins examples: Originals Burger Co & Subway at 34 Winbourne Rd, Brookvale.
'New York burger joint Originals Burger Co comes to Brookvale' https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/n...e/news-story/609521fafd816349fbbf6dd189a78f15

Also McDonalds at Brookvale (6 Mitchell Rd, Brookvale).

There are other places but nice to share info. Also Dee Why & Manly of course have lots of other options, but nice to pick on Brookvale venues within walking distance to the ground (all the above you can do that).

Food at 4 pines beer at nomad especially a Freshie salt and pepper.

And then a few at 7th day

Didis: for those of you that like 80s discos. It’s at the back of the brookie pub from about 1979 to the early 90s. Lots of manly players there from all grades.

For quite a while a few of us used to go to Nomad pre-game and I'd catch up with DSM5, Duffman and his mates plus others but we've given it away now as they really struggle with serving more than a few people when there's a game on. Long queues at the bar (often with people lining up outside the bar area) and really really slow service meant you spent more time waiting to get served than having a chat with mates unfortunately. As they consistently failed the Responsible Service of Alcohol law (They were responsible for serving us alcohol and couldn't) we now go elsewhere.
I popped in to Nomad after the Knights game for a roadie, stood in line for 10 mins, went to the loo for a comfort break and came back to the line and it had hardly moved so I binned it and got an Uber home where the beer was cold, cheap and there was no queues!
Good bar on non-match days though and a good selection of palatable beers

They should have a 'Can Bar' or employ extra staff. That's what the Brookie Hotel does well now.

I’ll be watching on from my caravan somewhere near the WA/NT border, sadly no boutique beers BUT definitely no line ups to my beer fridge!!

Won’t see a live game in 2019, BUGGER!!

I happen to know Narrabeen over 35 mens div 2 team are having their end of season bash at the 7th day so it might be busier than usual :emo:

All these places in Brookvale should be doing a roaring trade for this Saturday late afternoon & dinner for NRL Lottoland Semi. Did anyone find the venues for the pre Melb game 2 weeks ago work for them?

Brookie Hotel seems to handle the larger crowds well.

Next game I attend, I expect one of you to put me up for the game, take us to some venue (I'll pay) and generally look after me.

I'll let you all argue about it now, before I get there. *

* Visit comes with free hugs (if wanted). **

** After a Manly win, hugs may be involuntary. ***

*** I smell nice

Yep, we went to the Brookie hotel before the Storm game a couple of weeks ago.

Got there around 2.30 & it started to fill up from 3.30 onwards.

The can bar in the front beer garden meant zero queuing for beers, it was great.
