Richie has passed away this morning, another one of the professionals in the comm box gone, probably the best of them all..

Rest in Peace Richie. Summers will never sound the same, a great commentator, a great cricketer and most of all, a great man.

There will never be another (as this lot currently proves), it was just amazing how good you were and what a privilege to have been able to be entertained by your insight, wit, and respectful tones.

Sad day. So many Richieisms that I use every day. LOL. Summer hasn't been the same without his dulcet tones. True gentleman and a very talented and smart cricketer. Loved his laconic commentary style and he was a very astute student of the modern game. I'll miss him.
