Barrett looks to be struggling now that Bozo has left the building. Indicates to me that Bozo was pulling the strings.

Not sure Tuberculosis has any definite attacking plan and our defence is poor. Of most concern is that there seems to be a lack of unity and leadership, you get the feeling that he has run out of ideas.

its all fine and dandy to have the players respect as a top bloke and buddy but personally i think the players have no faith in him as a coach any longer they tried too but i believe it shows on the field that its not clicking anymore ,having no pride or love for the club is another issue i see !! (Yes we have injuries)

Youve got a guy on the other team buhrer who bled for us loved us since he was a kid and when he scored was the last player since beaver to show true love by kissing the manly emblem when he scored ,some of these current flops care more about going to strip joints and having coffees then bleeding maroon and white

A pretty crap situation all around for the club we love and that starts from the top !!!

Interested in what you mean by he 'moves the goal posts'. Do you mean he says he wants one thing and when they deliver he changes it? Or team selections?
Any info would be good Snake.

My post was probably a little over the top because I am emotional about the state of the club but the best example I can provide concerns Lussick. From what I can gather, when Tanginoa and Sironen went down, Lussick was asked to stay as an opportunity was now open in FG...Darcy agreed to put off his release to the Wolfpack and Barrett didn't pick him the following week...that's why Lussick and his Dad went ballistic at Baz.

It's probably not so much that he "moves the goalpost" but in my opinion it's indicative of someone who is just making it all up as he goes along without much of a plan...he is showing his inexperience and really needs a mentor at the club. I also think Cartwright is hopeless and is just picking up a pay check. I also get the impression that the staff enjoy a "drink" and a "prank" as has been reported in the media so no wonder the players go out after curfew and get in trouble. That business with Willie Peters last year was pretty tragic and it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident in the sense of infighting, pranking and drinking.

Thanks Snake. That's really revealing. And makes it easier to understand poor Lussick blowing a fuse. I certainly would given that sort of treatment!

"It's a results driven business"

Normally I'd have some sympathy for Barrett, but Toovey got the boot after a horror injury toll plus having to deal with legacy of Hasler's salary cap arrangements. This plus the whole Hastings saga and it seems Trent doesn't have what it takes. If he still resists picking Hastings then really question what Trent's issues with him are.

Ultimately imo, the board is the issue though, so many mistakes made and they've created the toxic environment that's trickled down to the team.

Well it all comes back to management or more correctly the lack of oversight by management.

Seems easy to fix now that the Bozo Clan is gone.
The rest of the footy department are all easily replaceable @

I don't think we should keep playing at Brookie to be honest, not until they fix the surface. We have had 3 players do an ACL and all at brookie. Every other team only has to play in that boggy crap at most once a year.

Toovey was the worst treated Manly coach in recent times. He had to deal with the back ended contracted set up by the dog. Matai and Stewart were unavailable and there was division in the camp. Before he had a chance to take control and create his own team they brought in Bozo and the rest is history.

After the Toovey debacle, they cant just sack TB , those words, "results driven business" continue to haunt Penn!! Regardless of the outcome this season, I think there needs to be a total review of our coaching team, including our fitness gurus and specialist coaches, it needs freshening up I feel!

Sorry mate, firstly I won’t throw personal abuse at you but my views of Barrett are well known & have been expressed from round 1 in 2016.

Everybody is clear you have little time for Bozo and his clan. Since he left we have been a basket case!
Can you expand on your comments, or will you continue to sit in the corner licking your paddle pop
Well Bozo was credited with completing the rebuild of Manly, but look at the state we are in.

1) We have a Salary Cap overspend ruling against us

2) Myles/Lussick on our Cap still due to their contract terms that were put in place by Bozo and the previous CEO

3) And we found out last week that Hastings has a backended contract that prevents Manly moving him off their books.

Hence my post about Manly Management failing in their oversight of our roster management, like they were with Hasler.

Bozo left only after all these contracts were put together @

Baz stated on NRL360 that he was asked for a type of player to recruit, but the actual players were identified by Bozo and contracts were all handled outside his purview

As Bozo left of his own accord, Manly Owners will not face Member revolt like they did when they sacked 2V.

Barrett urged to walk away from Manly
Manly would like nothing more than for the Gladstone drama surrounding skipper Daly Cherry-Evans and Jackson Hastings to be over and done with. But it’s a long way from over.

Trusted confidantes of Manly coach Trent Barrett have been telling him to walk away from the Sea Eagles. Now.

He has received calls of support from rivals such as Ricky Stuart and Phil Gould, but the Sea Eagles’ salary cap is a mess, the club has no real ability to bring in new talent, seven players are off contract and players are being required to sign on for minimum wage or thereabouts.

None of that is due to Barrett. He has a roster that is dominated by Cherry-Evans, who will earn about $1.3 million this season. Four other players, Marty Taupau, Tom and Jake Trbojevic, and Dylan Walker take up a significant chunk of the rest.

That means the Sea Eagles need to sign players on smaller contracts, and with that sometimes comes problems. It’s why Barrett has been urged to walk. But his view is that he has never quit anything in his life.

Hey Ralphie, all good, that's what a forum is for - expressing ones beliefs and the ability to question each other. BTW it's ok to be a gibberer - I'm one most of the time! I can provide references if you like ;) :giggle:
