I don't know what happened in the first 20 minutes(I missed it),but fxxx knows what everyone is going on about....he did fine considering the type of game,made some tackles,ran the ball well from his own half,took a kick in the in goal,and chased defensively.I would think that he was told not to bust a valve as season is about to start.I did not see any errors,did not run the ball like a maniac from 5 yrs ago and I did not see him tested in the air,but I am not sure what people expect.Glad we did not sign Mead like a lot wanted,without blistering speed he is just average at best,good luck broncos,solid but nothing else.Blake Ferguson is the current Oz winger and yeah did some good things defensively but did fXXX all else...

You missed the first 20 minutes, that's where all the action was!!

The teams biggest weakness for a long time is the tries we concede from bombs that our wingers do not deal with and the lack of tries we score from bombs by our wingers. This really needs to improve if we are to threaten the finals cause we will be targeted there every week.

He made a few spills in the first 20. Made some great tackles and runs. I think the most important skill for a winger is catching - why do we have 2 wingers who can't?!

Two dropped balls in first 20 mins from bombs. First one he was impeded by both an opposition player and one of his own players. The second came from a Thurston bomb which Johns said he was 100- 1 to catch due to the spin on the ball. Made a great try saving tackle and ran the ball back well.
Some tough markers on here. First game of the year. Give the guy a break. Not sure why some so called Manly supporters seem to think they have to pan certain players relentlessly.

I think Uate will surprise. Yes, he has some handling problems, but when he's on he's great. At least we have another winger that brings the ball back hard.

My concern from last nights match is that the opposition will bomb Uate on the last tackle - 1/3 of the time he will catch it 1/3 of the time he will knock it on and they will get another 6 tackles and score and the other 1/3 the opposition winger with a running start will jump over the top of him and score. And there will be no matai Lyon or Stewart to cover for him!!!
