Two Wrongs dont make a right

When I take over from koala Grant as commissioner in February the second thing I'll do is scrap:
2 referees, we'll be back to one.
The 'Adrian bunker'. In goal touchies will make a comeback.
And restrict those dimwits on the TV to one replay. Just get on with it.
Oh the first thing is a public sacking of turd greenbug.
And a flogging of same.

That frame also doesn't show how the ball came loose from the good grasp Uate had on it - Elliott forced it out. Strip's allowed in that situation, and there's no knock-on in your own in-goal...but the ball was never taken out of play. So a Newcastle player could've grounded it, forced it dead/into touch, or picked it up and run it out of the in-goal - just the same as any Manly player (in an onside position) was entitled to place downward pressure on the ball for a try. Zimples.
No offside in in goal, there is a knock on though in your own in goal

Burning at the stake would be better, or stoning.

Stone first, then burn!!

There is no way known that Uate scored that try. He 100 % dropped it. It was not knocked from his hands by a Drugcastle player. If that ruling went against us, this site would melt down.

But....

The 40/20 wasn't even close to a 40/20.
The penalties on the 4th and 5th tackles to gift them permanent residence in our 20 were all joke "grey area" penalties that were not awarded to us when the exact same infringements were committed.
The 75th minute try was their first line break. The try they scored was about as flukey as they come.

The upshot is......the better team won.........that much is as clear as Uate dropping it.
So Drugcastle and all the media led by Freddie the d***head Fittler....deal with it. It happens. It has happened to Manly so many times and it gets swept under the carpet faster than a Slime salary cap breach.

Double standards anyone ?

Watch it again. In slow motion if you need to. Elliott's left hand, from the moment he makes contact, is wrapped around the point of the football tucked in Uate's left arm. It never, at any point in the tackle/contest, comes loose from the football, until the point that it leaves Uate's grasp. The ball comes downwards out of Uate's grasp only because that hand is clearly pushing down on the ball from above and behind as they both fall towards the ground.

It was clearly visible on my phone screen, even more blatant when we saw it on a large TV screen during the news bulletin last night - neutral supporters in the room saw it too.

I'd even go so far as to say, if the same thing happened involving one of the favoured teams, you'd have seen Tony Archer pointing out exactly that and defending the live decision.

Bring back striking for the ball Ian Roberts style. Lets see how many players just step over the ball then.

Oh, and make punching a fine. $500 per attempted haymaker, stuff this 10 in the bin crap. Niggle is killing the game and besides, there are some players who could do with a good knuckle sandwich or two.

And I agree with @Harvies elbow ... bring back one referee. It worked very well in the Anzac and Pacific tests. If its good enough for test football its good enough for club football.

Thought it was poor ball security, but from a trivial side- can see a strip.
Personally would call it a no try, but also a
No 40/20 that Swung momentum
Penalised the offside all night
Penalised the slow ruck defence

Overall, Knights were gifted enough opportunity to win 3 games.
Sick of the BS tears over a lost ball, after Manly had already created that try and lost 3 others over the line....on a dry track with 1 ref it would have been Manly by 30....
1 fair ref that is....
