Turbo to Superleague?

This exactly.
I've said it before and l'll say it again - Anthony Miniechiello.
2006-2009 averaged 8 ( yes 8) games per season and was "finished"
2010 (aged 30) - 2014 averaged 24 games per season, played rep footy and captained his club to a premiership.
This is one example l know but Mini was more "washed up" than Turbo supposedly is.

Turbo when fit is the best player in the game and is better than average at 90%.
I seriously can't believe that supporters want him gone.
Yep and worth noting whilst he has had a horrible run he has played 38 games the last two years.

19 games a season aint too bad if we can keep that up

Manly have failed to learn from their mistakes with Daly Cherry-Evans and are now running the risk of watching history repeat itself with Tom Trbojevic.

My colleague Michael Chammas reported on Friday that Trbojevic was set to sign a three-year extension worth about $2.5 million to stay at the Sea Eagles until the end of 2029.

That’s what Trbojevic thought as well.

However, Manly have moved the goalposts and angered one of their favourite sons, who has had enough of the politics from the club’s management.

Trbojevic’s agent met with Manly general manager Peter Gentle during the week. There was an understanding between the two parties that Trbojevic would be given a contract worth about $850,000 to $900,000 a year for three years.

Trbojevic was comfortable with the situation. It just required board approval. At that point, he was ready to knock back interest from UK Super League clubs to stay at Manly because he felt wanted by the Sea Eagles despite his reservations about the club.

You can imagine his disappointment then when the club reached out around the time Chammas’ story went live on Friday to inform Trbojevic’s agent that their offer was close to $100,000 a season less than originally discussed.

Complicating matters is the uncertainty around who made the decision. Did the board demand the salary be reduced or did chief executive Tony Mestrov order Gentle to offer less than originally discussed?

The sad thing for Manly fans is that Trbojevic was more than happy to take a significant pay cut and understood the club’s concerns about offering him more than $1 million a season due to his wretched run with injuries.

The negotiating tactics of Manly’s management early in the season led to Cherry-Evans’ decision to leave the club.

Trbojevic is far more entrenched in the Manly area and football club than the Sea Eagles halfback, but the fact he is ready to walk away from it all speaks volumes about his frustration with the club.

Trbojevic has previously offered to take a $750,000 pay cut to help the club. He also knocked back a guaranteed $30,000 to be the NSW Blues’ 18th man in game one this year to be available for Manly.

This has never been about money. It’s about respect. Manly appear to have a funny way of showing it.

I'd be willing to bet money that this scuttlebutt is just because Turbo's agent is just pissed that his commission will be smaller.

Missing $300,000 could do the unimaginable - push Tom Trbojevic out of Manly Sea Eagles

The Sea Eagles are bracing for the possibility of superstar Tom Trbojevic entering the November 1 open market after the club’s board tabled a revised contract.

There are increasing fears that Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic could shock the NRL by entering the November 1 open market unless the club reinstates the $100,000 a season sliced off his contract offer.

Well-placed sources indicate a new three-year deal was just about completed – Trbojevic was to receive around $850,000 to $900,000 a season – before Manly lodged a revised offer worth around $750,000 a year.

It is understood the Manly board decided to cut Trbojevic’s contract offer.
Trbojevic is believed to be bitterly disappointed at the submission being $100,000 short of what he felt was an agreed-upon deal.

Trbojevic is highly unlikely to accept the amended offer and will now consider going to market unless the club can increase the offer to its original price.

The club and Trbojevic want a deal to be secured but the two parties appear to be drifting apart in negotiations.

Pushing and goading Trbojevic during contract negotiations could prove a dangerous mistake by Manly’s board.

A meeting last week between both parties, including Trbojevic’s manager Paul Sutton, appeared to seal the deal which only required final board approval.

But then the adjusted offer arrived – much to Trbojevic’s disappointment.

Sutton will now attempt to renegotiate a new deal which includes the missing $100,000 a season.

It would be a shattering blow for Manly should Trbojevic decide to enter the open market.

And while it’s unimaginable, there is an outside chance Trbojevic could leave Manly unless a new contract can be sorted.

Trbojevic has previously said he would never play against Manly.

There are still hopes that the stand-off can be resolved in the coming weeks.

Trbojevic has temporarily left his contract drama behind in Sydney with he and fiance Kristi in Bali for a two-week off-season holiday.

Off contract after next season, the champion Manly wants to sign a three-year extension at Brookvale until the end of 2029.

There was speculation last week that Trbojevic may look at options in the English Super League.

Trbojevic was said to be comfortable with the $850,000 to $900,000 a season offer, a sizeable pay cut from his current $1.1m annual contract.

Manly’s season was essentially derailed through a contract drama earlier this season involving departing captain Daly Cherry-Evans.

The November 1 deadline is just five weeks away.
