Turbo to Superleague?

I'll say Danny Weidler is always hunting a negative story about Manly (take your mind back to his conduct during the whole DCE saga and times before that), and tonight, the usual lead story on such a strong rugby league matter/rumour was given to Zac Bailey, not Danny.

I'm quite confident in stating that Danny enjoys throwing mud at the Club and here's an opportunity to create more mischief.

It's very simple; if Paul is wanting the best deal for his client, then EVERY opportunity must be assessed no matter the background or reason(s) as to why he is "being shopped".

There are some very smart operators within the SFX team and I would hazard a guess, [that] Paul and his team have already explored the appetite within the NRL, the Perth Bears (he won't go to PNG) and being offered to ESL teams,as leverage in negotiating a value for his next contract.

There's not a lot of "real interest" within the NRL given his injury record and that record is starting to count against him in determining his worth and "economic life" for the "bean counters" at every NRL club.

Best of luck with however it plays out Tom, I hope you stay at Manly but you've probably realised that you've only got "X number of games left" so you need to make hay whilst the sun shines.

I don't get the feeling they're trying to gauge market value, instead, I think he's considering retiring from the NRL due to injury. He probably figures he has another year left at this level, and then he can put the constant pressure and scrutiny of the NRL behind him and just enjoy his footy.

DCE leaves Manly after being here for his whole career because of Seibold
Yes as sad end to the great and highly successful DCE era, I'm shattered! @:D
Tommy Talau "liked" Danny Weilders social media post on this very subject, FWIW.

I know hes gone, but that says a bit to me regarding the feelings towards the club/coach.
Wow a player who was told he's surplus to requirements annoyed at the club, can't be possible!

Yep, probably feels the UK is the best way to extend his career on decent coin, given all his injuries. And probably thinks it’s unlikely he will enjoy any future success at Manly under current arrangements, so why hang around? I’d go to catalans if I was him, and enjoy a couple of years in the South of France before retiring.

Ah finally a well thought out post👏👏

It also can’t be forgotten Tom has spoken openly about leaving if he feels like he’s holding the team back. Only he & the staff know how much physical + mental pain it causes him trying to play at the top level every week. While Super League is still very physical it’s a heck of a lot slower which could be appealing for an injury prone player.

100% my thought on it.
