Turbo to Superleague?

I get everyone loves him. Same with DCE... but it just makes sense to let them go. If they can get an early release for next season.. even better. They are tied to next years cap for 2m+. If we cant bring anyone decent in for next year then not much you can do.. but we must not extend them. IMO. I know most will disagree but its just not a smart move to tie down an injury prone player and a player ALREADY passed his best to long term deals.

Turbo has lost a yard of pace - not reliable on field either. Jurbo is finished. Do you guys honestly think they have a premiership in them? taking 2m of the cap? Im all for them being nice guys and great ambassadors of the club.. but sometimes you need to know when to cut them loose. Its just business at the end of the day.

Turbo to agree to a new 850-900k deal. Jurbo 550-600k max is what they are worth. That may be suitable.. but these boys if they can get what they are on now in England. Why not? Might even be a slower game for both to adapt to.

To me it’s a win win. Put Koula to full back - use the money for a good centre, hooker and a prop.
Well one thing , is they’ll both be here in 2026, the last year in their back ended contracts ( thanks Des).

I very much doubt Jake will go beyond this.

Turbo , for 2027-2029 at a much reduced contract is definitely worth keeping, but I think circa $650-$700 is the maximum. Given you know he’ll continue to be injured for much of ever year.

ESL is in a pretty dire situation currently, to the point that the NRL is considering buying a major share with operational control. It is believed that rugby league as an international game cannot afford the English league going under. An injection of the world's best high quality talent, big name 'star' appeal could help the situation. Personally, I don't believe this will have a huge impact on their market
yeah me either, not to mention who cares if the international game suffers…it’s essentially a couple of exhibition games at the end of each season. I’m always amazed at the growth for growth's sake mindset of capitalism!

I would like to see him stay for one more season. He came in to some good form over our last 3 games and still has plenty to offer I believe

I think he will sign for one more season, (same as Jake), and then do a couple of years in the SL. Watch this space. That should give us approximately $900,000 more to spend in our cap in 27, and $1,300,000 more in 28.

If Turbo is seriously thinking about this, I think this is a lifestyle choice before he has a family, and allowing he and his wife the opportunity of exploring Europe beforehand, along with potentially a larger pay day while doing so.

If Turbo was my son, I’d say, ‘Go for it and enjoy it while you can’.

He has more money than the king to live there post footy.

But leaving your legacy on this game. Priceless.

So
So because we have a different opinion to you we are now “ ignorant “.

**** me you think you are high & mighty don’t you.

My way or the highway and you’ll all bow down to my superior knowledge, is that how it is !

Rightio , noted for future reference.

Not sure who you are replying to buts it obviously one of those I blocked a few years ago.

Block them @Mark from Brisbane that way they dont have an audience, and your feed is a much more pleasant experience. You wont look back.

Id hate for Turbo to have to (or feel like he had to) finish his career over here. He should only ever be a Manly player.
It's true that the game itself is on its knees over here and most clubs lose approx £1-2 million per season, propped up by wealthy owners. The Warrington owner Simon Moran is a very rich man but he is a lifelong fan of his team so doesn't mind the sacrifice of losing the cash. If he wanted to he could easily afford Tom's current contract. He's recently just earned himself a few mill as the promoter of the Oasis comeback tour so half a million quid on a footballer would be pocket change

I’d be very surprised if Turbo went to the UK, he wouldn’t get more money , and he and the bride want to have a family then they’ll both want to be near parents.

I think he’ll sign a lower value contract with Manly for 2-3 years from 2027 and call it a day after that.
